New project with Steven Soderbergh
  • Variety writes that a new project with Matt and Steven Soderbergh from 2929 Entertainment will be announced in May. The Informant will already be filming at that time. The new un-named project was included in a list of projects 'creating heat' at the Berlin Film Festival sales market:

    * a new Stephen Soderbergh project with Matt Damon to be announced at Cannes from 2929 Entertainment.

  • Matt met members of a Norwegian soccer club in Spain - details and a photo are here.

  • Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily writes that Matt may be one of a group of A-list actors seeking an early resolution to a possible Screen Actors Guild strike.

I hear that on Thursday the trades will carry an ad signed by George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, and others trying to push the SAG leaders to start negotiations early. Also, Matt Damon, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, etc will begin making phone calls to SAG leadership on Friday. Also, a piece on this subject has been signed by Hanks and Clooney and submitted to the Los Angeles Times Op-Ed page.

  • There's another chapter in the Matt and Jimmy Kimmel faux feud, and it's not too original. From the New York Post.

Sure, Sarah Silverman bragged about sleeping with Matt Damon, but where's the love for Ben Affleck? Last week, Silverman surprised her boyfriend, Jimmy Kimmel, on his show with a music video called "I'm [Bleep]ing Matt Damon," featuring Silverman and the "Bourne Identity" star singing together about their faux affair. Now Kimmel is striking back with a song called "I'm [bleep]ing Ben Affleck." Our source told us the video for this song, set to the theme of "We Are the World," will star Affleck, Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz.
