Weekend wedding, Haiti, Bourne
  • On Saturday Matt and Lucy attended the wedding of Marquis Jet co-founder Jesse Itzler and Spanx founder Sara Blakely in Boca Grande, Florida. Matt is a long-time user of Marquis Jet, and Matt has previously sent messages to Jesse while he competed in a charity event, and been flown to Las Vegas to play poker with Itzler. Photos of Matt and Lucy at the wedding are at PopSugar (including one photo below), a video still is at Just Jared, and some details of the extravagant wedding are at Access Atlanta or here.

With famous friends looking on, Spanx founder Sara Blakely married Jesse Itzler at sunset Saturday on the beach in Boca Grande, Fla.

The Atlanta entrepreneur first met the co-founder of Marquis Jets when she became a client of the New York groom’s private jet leasing company a few years back.

Guests included actor Matt Damon, playwright Eve Ensler, rapper Doug E. Fresh, Collective Soul frontman Ed Roland and his wife Michaeline, Atlanta morning radio personality Vikki Locke and her husband Michael Hughes, MRPR public relations firm founder Meg Reggie and her husband Rick Butgereit, Spanx employees past and present and members of the New York Knicks, the groom’s favorite team.

Valets were standing by to park each guest’s golf cart, which had been assigned to them upon check-in at the luxurious Gasparilla Inn & Club. The couple had rented the entire resort for the weekend. Complimentary flip-flops were lined up, according to size, for attendees to slip to avoid the particles of shells on the beach.

  • Update: Photos of Matt, Lucy and kids arriving at Los Angeles Airport prior to the OneXOne San Francisco event are at PopSugar.

  • The upcoming release of the new Bond film is sparking renewed Bond v Bourne debates.

  • Wyclef Jean writes about his trip to Haiti with Matt at Anderson Cooper 360, describing Matt as a "friend and remarkable human being".

  • Update: A new book available at Amazon UK from author Kevin Conley, titled Full Burn: Behind Hollywood Stuntmen, includes at least one article on the making of the Bourne action scenes. An excerpt from the book is online at the Daily Telegraph.

I love the flip flops! From what I can see in this picture, all the men have on tennis shoes or flip flops. There must have been a reason we aren't aware of.

    It's in the article...

Because it's mentioned in the story above... Due to shells on the beach each guest was given flip-flops to wear as they arrived.
