Golden Globe Awards
  • Matt and Lucy attended the Golden Globe Awards and after-parties in Los Angeles on Sunday. Matt lost Best Supporting Actor to Christoph Waltz and Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy to Robert Downey Jr. After the ceremony Matt and Lucy visited the Warner Bros/In Style and Weinstein Company parties. At the WB party Matt told interviewer Ben Lyons how difficult it was to dress up and care about the awards following the Haiti earthquake earlier in the week. Some Twitter posts are below, with photos from Wireimage, Yahoo and MTV.

  • Matt discussed leaving for San Francisco on Monday to start filming Hereafter at USA Today.

Matt Damon didn't win supporting actor for Invictus, but he was nevertheless his usual good-natured self.

Chatting with his agent in the bar area after the Golden Globes, he was approached by a man who asked him to pose for a picture with a woman visiting from Indonesia. "Sure." Damon grinned, "and she doesn't even have to be from Indonesia."

Damon told USA TODAY's Claudia Puig he was off to San Francisco the next day to shoot another film with Clint Eastwood, Hereafter, written by screenplay maestro Peter Morgan. Damon was planning on participating in the George Clooney telethon for Haiti from the Bay Area.

Damon, a fan of the original The Office, also had high praise for Gervais. "He took it easy on me," he said. "And he (Gervais) is underrated as actor."

  • A quote from Eli Roth at MTV:

"I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger come up to Quentin and tell him how much he loved the film. [So did] Matt Damon and Tom Hanks. It was pretty awesome," Eli Roth marveled of the "Basterds" love.

  • More photos from Friday's Critics Choice Awards are at PopSugar and Pure People, including the photo below with Matt, Lucy, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.

    Golden Globes

What was said at the Golden Globes last night,
"Please welcome two NBC stars Zachary Levi and Amy Poehler.” Hehe. They had great interaction, at least. Two of NBC’s best. “Whenever I think about sexy secret agents I think of Jason Bourne. (They cut to Matt Damon who was grinning) Then I fake it and think of you” – Amy Pohler to Zachary Levi.

    Golden Globes & Haiti

Really sad Matt didn't win. I had my fingers and toes crossed. It doesn't take away from the great work he did in both movies. Awards are as much about marketing as they are about the work I think, and Matt doesn't seem interested in playing that game.

Can't agree with his comment about Ricky Gervais though; I find him unbearably smug these days, and no he is not even close to being a good actor.

Love the pictures you've put up, Lucy looks lovely.

I guess it all does seem a bit frivolous with the truly horrendous situation in Haiti, helps to put things like this into perspective. I know that every little bit that is done to help those suffering really does make a real difference. My thoughts and prayers are with them. Marcia

Lucy looks fantastic in the green gown

Matt looks relaxed and seems to be aging quite well over the years since Good Will Hunting.
