Elysium update
  • An update on Elysium from director Neill Blomkamp at The Province:

“Elysium is basically done at the end of February,” Blomkamp says. “I have some straggling VFX shots that go into April but it’s almost done. The stuff looks absolutely amazing.”

  • A sighting from the NY Post:

Celebrities wined and dined their sweethearts on Valentine’s Day just like everyone else. Matt Damon brought wife Luciana to a romantic date at the Gansevoort Park Hotel’s Asellina, where he had a bouquet of roses delivered during dinner.

    Various

When you think we can see a trailer from Elysium?

I like the style the Italian Vogue chose for Matt. Classy & Elegant.

Seems they had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner.

    Re: Various

Matt and family now seem to be in Vermont for the long weekend.

No idea on the Elysium trailer, but it has to be fairly soon or it will never gain traction. The District 9 trailer only came out 3 months before the film, so they're taking a similar approach.

    Re: BERLINALES

It's a commendation (recognition) for the movie, but not an award.

Gus Van Sant-directed movie about shale gas drilling, "Promised Land" were among the Special Mentions. The Matt Damon-starring drama, though didn't win any award, was lauded along with some other films for "the integrity of their vision and their conviction that cinema can make a difference."

    Kimmel

Matt's not included in the list of stars set to appear in Jimmy Kimmel's after the Oscars special (Movie: The Movie 2V sequel), but he's likely to be involved.

    New Bourne

Talk of the new Bourne movie by the Universal chief, with or without Matt (are they waiting for Matt to approach them?) And they got in a dig about the cost of Ultimatum, which wasn't that much more than Legacy.

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/universal-chairman-wants-fifty-shades-422217

THR: Last summer's Bourne Legacy grossed $276.1 million worldwide without Matt Damon -- good, not great. What's your plan for the Bourne property?

Fogelson: The point of the last movie was to create a universe, a world and characters that give us a lot of freedom and flexibility in how we go forward. Yeah, the movie didn't perform the way the last one did. It also didn't cost what the last one did. It performed more along the lines of how the first one did. I absolutely see us doing more Bourne, 100 percent yes. Matt has talked about the possibility of coming back, and we totally respect that and are excited if and when he wants to have conversations. But I think the last movie gave us a big bunch of options to pursue a next chapter.

    Re: New Bourne

Fogelson better be willing to talk to Paul Greengrass. I'd really like Matt to come back in at least one more for the fans. But Universal is going to have to be willing to work with the twosome and I just don't know if Universal is truly willing to or if Paul would even consider it.
In all the press since Legacy was released, Matt's been asked over and over, he's game and it sounds like Universal could be, but where is Greengrass in all this? Someone needs to ask him.

    Re: New Bourne

Greengrass is working on other projects, and like Matt, doesn't need Bourne.

    Re: New Bourne

Omg I totally agree!!! Matt Damon/Jason Bourne 5 does not want to be 'born' without Paul Greengrass!!! Let me retrive my comment I just made about this subject on some website...This is how I feel about this:

'I agree with Matt Damon about them making it tough to come back as Bourne 5 after making The Legacy because one of the reasons why people liked the movies I think–besides the fact that we all LOVE Damon (personally I love him more then everyone)–is because the stories are on the edge of being realistic and it sounds like The Legacy is not too realistic so now that the Legacy was made without Matt it might tarnish Bourne 5 if it could even be made allthough nothing is impossible in hollywood land LOL! But I too would love to see him once more in a Bourne movie (and I could be his personal assistant) But anyhow Matt Damon is the only Jason Bourne xoxo.'
