    Some reviews from social networks:

-Mike Potemra: Matt Damon was the producer, and he said in a Q&A at the Cinerama Dome tonight that when looks back at his career someday, he'll be proud that, when he had some leverage in the business, he used it to make a project like this. I agree; it's really hard to make movies about *people* these days, as opposed to superheroes or cartoon characters. Kudos to everyone involved with this one.
-Gabriela Kostadinova: Had the immense pleasure of watching the masterpiece that "Manchester by the Sea" is and listening to its producer, Matt Damon, share some insight about the intimacy and complexity of the film, as well as how hard and rare it has become to make such movies in the industry with the general demographic looking for other genres. But this is one of those that need a moment to sink in after you're done watching - Genuine, real and heartfelt, focusing on the stories we usually turn our backs to. Absolutely highly recommend it!
-Jessica Scozzola: Watch the film, "Manchester by the Sea." Matt Damon helped produce it. I was at the theaters tonight in hollywood watching the film and Matt Damon was there doing a Q&A period after. It was a good film with good acting. Matt's high intelligence was easily seen with the Q&A period. He made mention of the main producer of the film and the Director, how much they did for this film. He also made mention of how Casey Affleck did a great job with the acting.Matt and others pushed through the stops to making this film and they made it happen. Nice!
-Sally Kerchner: Even if Matt Damon hadn't asked me to tell you about the movie, I would! Manchester By The Sea is a masterpiece. If you like movies that tell stories about people this movie is for you. It will make you cry more than laugh but it will keep you wanting more. Casey Affleck's performance is Oscar worth

And a lot of the same opinions about the movie. I want to add that I am very, very sorry that Matt's not starred in this film. I have no doubt that its performance would not be worse than Affleck. I'm afraid that his instinct this time failed him.

Nothing to do with instinct. Matt did not have time on his schedule to make the film.

    Jason Bourne

I don't love boxing, but this scene of fight is my darling in the movie. It is a pity that she is such short.)

Matt Damon shows he can take a punch in "Jason Bourne." And, this exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage from the Blu-Ray shows just how real his fight with bare knuckle boxing champ Brian Nichols got.

    Re: Gotham Awards

Matt didn't attend. Casey won Best Actor but the film didn't win any other awards.

    Re: National Board of Review

Also, they pick Casey for Best Actor.

The general consensus seems to indicate that Casey is the front runner in his category, (even with the resurgence of old allegations against him)
Lainey has an interesting perspective on this subject.

There are a number of interesting movies in the race for the Oscars this year. Just to name a few: Moonlight seems to be MBTS'great rival, but also Jackie and Fences and of course La La Land (that many say is the favorite)
