It's been quite some time since I opened this journal on George and it certainly has grown in leaps and bounds.  So much so I'm afraid I've outgrown the space here at LiveJournal.  With over 18,000 pictures it has become difficult to maintain and organize a gallery.  I've decided that it's time to close Clooney Project and move on to the next step and create my own site.  Unfortunately after some research I discovered that someone had purchased the domain Clooney Project.   So Clooney Project will now become Clooney Unlimited.  I am still in the process of setting up the site and transfering the posts from CP to CU but the majority is there including all the pictures.  I will leave Clooney Project open during the transfer for needed references, any new updates will be made at Clooney Unlimited.  I hope that everyone will enjoy the move and join me in my new adventures.   I've just posted some great Magazines donated by Reve and added some wonderful candids from the past few days in NY.   Here's the link  http://www.clooneyunlimited.com/  I hope to see everyone there.

We'd like to remind you that the nomination process for LiveJournal Advisory Board user-representatives has begun. If you think you're fit for the job, now's the time to nominate yourself! After all, you're the only who can do it. In two weeks, on the 22nd, the voting process will begin; we'll remind you about it again here.

If you're interested in keeping up with the nominations, watch lj_election_en. We'll post the results and announce the winner by the end of the day on May 30th. The new user-representatives will be seated on June 1st. Further details can also be found in lj_2008.

Costume gala draws fitting crowd

NEW YORK — L.A. might have the Oscars, but Manhattan's social event of the season is the annual Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute gala, which draws bold-faced, glammed-up names from both coasts and across the pond. This year's theme? Superheroes, a fitting one given the massive box-office hit that was Iron Man, and the upcoming flicks The Dark Knight, featuring the Caped Crusader, and The Incredible Hulk. Designer Giorgio Armani served as this year's honorary chair, while George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Vogue editor Anna Wintour chaired the benefit extravaganza.

Armani dressed Clooney and Roberts. "He asked me very sweetly if I'd be his date," Roberts, wearing a platinum Giorgio Armani Privé gown, said about the designer, who also outfitted other A-list celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Beyoncé Knowles and John Mayer.

Clooney was taking it all in stride. "I get to have a drink. It's easy for me," he said.

The event wasn't just a fashion show. There's an exhibit involved, "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy," which runs through Sept. 1.

The most exclusive one will be Giorgio Armani’s invite-only soiree at Bungalow 8 in celebration of his friend George Clooney’s birthday. The celebrated actor, who turns 47 at midnight tonight, is co-chairing tonight’s Superheroes-themed gala alongside Armani and Julia Roberts.

Advisory Board Nominations Begin

This morning we are opening the nomination process for the user-representative positions on the LiveJournal Advisory Board. A full description of the process can be found here.

To get you started, here are the basic things you should know:

- You may only nominate yourself
- Each nominee will need 100 motions of support in order to be eligible to be a candidate
- We ask that you keep your comments on the nomination posts to "I support this nomination" or something to that effect; be kind to those who will need to count the "supports", please.
- Although the nominations and election poll will take place in lj_election_en, you do not need to watch the community in order to keep up with the election; we'll announce everything here as well.

Everyone here at LiveJournal is looking forward to this first-ever User-Representative election! We'd like to thank everyone who is participating. Some words from our current Advisory Board members:

danah boyd: “LiveJournal is filled with very passionate users. These users have helped shaped LJ's various communities over the last decade and it gives me great joy that LJ is recognizing and incorporating users' voices into the decision-making processes. Having user representatives from different parts of LJ on the Advisory Board will help make sure that the company is meeting the needs of its diverse constituents.”
