  • The first (semi) official confirmation that Matt will no longer be playing Lance Armstrong in the proposed Frank Marshall bio-pic here:

Cycling legend Lance Armstrong has privately confirmed speculation that Jake Gyllenhaal will portray him in a biopic.

He told sources at ESPN that Matthew McConaughey had been up to play the part, but lost out to Gyllenhaal.

"He said that's why he has been spending so much time with them both this summer," said the source.

Hurray! So glad Matt had to pull out. Would have hated to see him waste his time portraying such a selfish egomaniac. MP

Good for McConaughey too. Assuming that quote from Armstrong is not taken out of context, that's just proof postive that he has an over-inflated ego. To think he actually *said* the reason he's spent so much time with them was to see who should play him--wow. I hope Gyllenhaal and McConaughey somehow knew they were in competition, cause that's a sad wake up call if they didn't. Maybe that's the only way Armstrong can make friends, by putting them in competition. Again, I say, ...wow. [shake head]

I'm glad to here that Matt's not going to be playing Lance too. But, I guess I never really believed I would see it happen. It just seemed like one of those things that came about b/c Matt's such a nice guy who do anything to help out a friend. I just assumed Matt's involvement stemmed from him not having the heart to flat-out refuse.

There are some pics of Matty on Just Jared. In one of the pics George and Brad are stroking a dog. Felicity can you please tell me if that is Matt's Billy Crystal or not. Thanks.

No, I think Billy Crystal is a mutt (I'll post a pic later).

"reyluree" in ben-fan.com has posted this link :

It says that Ben has written an extremely powerful bit for the movie Syriana. Felicity, is this true?

I saw the original link and wanted to complain. Never heard of it before, and I really doubt it would be true.

Somebody would have mentioned it before (most likely Matt) if Ben had got involved, but he really had no right to, and Matt wouldn't seek to change someone else's words. He would have too much respect for Gaghan, as writer and director.
