Good Shepherd trailer to be released this week
  • ET has begun promoting that it will air clips from The Good Shepherd (so it's probably the trailer) on Thursday's show.

  • The New York premiere of The Departed will now be on 26 September at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

  • The Departed will be screened at the Rome Film Festival, but Matt is not expected to attend - details at Variety:

With a week to go before the RomeFilmFest unveils the lineup for its first edition, European launches of Martin Scorsese's "The Departed" and Zhang Yimou's "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles" are among new titles set to unspool.

Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are expected to make the trek to the Eternal City for "The Departed," while talks are still ongoing for Jack Nicholson to tubthump the South Boston-set gangster pic, which Medusa will release in Italy.

  • Thanks again to Clooney Network for an interview with Leo and Matt (doing his Jack Nicholson impersonation) on E! News (just ignore Guiliana) - here.

  • A long interview with John Gulager about Feast is at the Hollywood Reporter.

  • A questionable sighting from People:

Leonardo DiCaprio, "cracking jokes" with pal Matt Damon at L.A.'s Hyde Lounge. Damon held hands with wife Luciana as the trio hung out at the hot spot.

Premiere at the Ziegfeld, eh? Well I'm a New Yorker so the question is do I go down there and try to get a picture? That would make me feel a bit like a stalker.

    Re: The Good Shepherd

I went to see All the King's Men this morning and The Good Shepherd trailer was shown. I was disappointed. It did not make me want to see the movie. I'm not sure who they were trying to attract. They also showed The Departed trailer and to me it is much better. I am still looking forward to both Matt Damon movies, but I just didn't like the trailer for The Good Shepherd.

I'm not sure if this is what's supposed to happen, but when I clicked on the link you provided for the E news page, all excited to see Matt's Nicholson impersonation, I was taken to a page called Yousendit which appears to be a file delivery page. Could you shed some light on this please? Is everyone else experiencing this or is it just me? Thanks.

Yes, the file is available for downloading from that page (the clip has been taped from TV and posted to that file sharing space). All safe.

In order to view the video I signed up at *YouSendIt*. Agree - very safe and totally worth it. I managed to not only view the video but save it to my computer to see over and over again. Matt does an incredible "Jack".

I just saw the clips that ET showed of TGS and once again they make it seem as if the movie is headlined by someone else i.e. Angelina, which makes me really annoyed. I think Angelina is an incredible actress but isn't her role supporting? Someone try and explain this to me! I am a true Matt fan, and I just want to see him get the recognition he deserves.

    The Angelina Jolie Movie

That's how ET pretty much promoted the movie last night. Yuck, what a disgrace. Matt has top billing, but his name was only mentioned once or twice. Who else feels like the movie was improperly advertised?

Since when does Matt hang out with Leo DiCaprio? I thought they didnt go along too well. Or was that Mark Wahlberg and Matt? Somebody help me out.

Can't wait for TD and TGS. :D

That's partly why I put it was a "questionable" sighting. First of all, it would have to be weeks old (probably September 7, when Leo wasn't actually sighted at the club). Matt and Leo have been saying nice things about each other at the press junket, but they wouldn't be close. If it happened, I would guess it would have been a very random encounter.

And yep, it's very definitely Matt and Mark who don't get on (see previous comments some while back).
