Thanks for the links Felicity. That second photo on the website gave me the creeps - the one with William Hurt - it reminded me of Ripley!

Liked the trailer - what an amazing cast, most of them Academy Award winners. Can't wait, though I suspect it won't be out in the UK until next year. Still we have the Departed to look forward to next month.

Incidentally, I couldn't find the Access Hollywood clip on the site. Am I just being stupid!

The video on Access has gone from the front page and doesn't appear to be on the video page. Don't know. Try the podcast version:

I loved the Good Shepherd trailer, but the reaction on the web seems to be somewhat muted (it isn't going to appeal to the kids, and wasn't designed to). Many people already seem to have written the film off - but the final print still is probably a while off and a lot could change in editing.

They could easily have played up the trailer to be what it is not (action/war/explosions/murders), and they've taken a quieter and more authentic route.

Thanks Felicity - I'll try the podcast.

The fact that the movie was not designed for the kids and that they didn't play up the trailer with violence/action etc makes me want to see the film even more! It's very rare to get intelligent well made movies these days. Even though the trailer is short, you can tell Matt is really immersed in the character. That he is not Matt but Edward Wilson.

...taken a quieter and more authentic route.

Yes, and I really hope that it pays off in the end. The trailer is great! I am now more eager than before to see the movie. The above average movie goer (young and old) who appreciates good writing, directing, acting etc... will respond. The trailer suggests to me that the movie is full of good 'all of that stuff'.
I have read several posts stating that Jolie is receiving top billing for the movie. I just want to say that, and I hope I am not out of line and my comment is deleted, Jolie has NEVER impressed me with her acting. I still can not believe she was cast in this movie among such incredible talent. She is a pretty woman and I think that the camera loves her when she is modeling. However, her acting leaves MUCH to be desired. God bless her for all of the wonderful things that she does for the less fortunate. I admire that about her.
Nerdy and/or ordinary never looked so good. As you can all see, Matt is so hot! I couldn't resist. I had to say it (lol).

Re: ...taken a quieter and more authentic route.

There's no way Angelina should get top billing for the movie, except as a blatant grab to increase audiences. She's not even in the film that much.

The ET trailer preview was incredibly deceiving, and almost disrespectful. In Mary Hart's introduction she was meant to introduce Matt because her voice over referred to Matt initially by his first name only, which should not have happened. And they even repeated some of Angelina's scenes to make it look like she has a larger role...

Any photo of William Hurt gives me the creeps these days. "That old grey mare, she ain't what she used to be." :b Five pictures and the only person who's in a dress is Jolie?--what a shame. I'm dying for a pic of Matt in drag to be released. Love the pic you chose to post here though, Felicity. If it's possible, I think glasses seem to accentuate his gorgeous baby blues even more.

That whole drag sequence, and the 'younger Matt' scenes may not make it to the final cut, depending on the tone they're trying to create.

And nope, I'll guess they wouldn't release any pics of the drag scenes (a little too much of a spoiler and out of sync with the rest of the movie).

Felicity, a question, is it me or sounded Matt's voice deeper/heavier than normal in the Access Hollywood video? It was cute though with the present for Isabella.

    I didn't notice any difference.

Well then it is me then, lol, im familiar with Matt's voice being lighter than in the AH video though. *ignore me, lol*

Matt's character in "Stuck on You" described his voice as 'light baritone'. I think that's about right. One of the best voices in Hollywood.
