Of course that line was a joke - it was used to emphasise the point that Matt would never make those kind of comments/accusations/publicity seeking behaviour in an interview (ie Teri Hatcher in Vanity Fair).

My opinion on it was that I want to immediately read a psychology textbook and seek to identify a personality profile/analysis of Matt and his complex character.

Thanks for getting the full interview. Having read it I'm none the wiser about him, maybe that's the point if he doesn't like attention this might be his way of deflecting it.

To me he comes over as someone still not comfortable in his own skin. What's the point of being famous if you can't live the life you want, go out when you want or do what you want, you might as well be in prison.

Also, the interviewer was pretty hard on him I think, unfairly so as he's not the kind of celebrity who pursued fame for its own sake. He has a talent and he doesn't force himself on people, like Paris Hilton or others who think their only reason to exist is to be on E and Entertainment Tonight. MP
