  • Update: People has updated with another photo from the set:

Keeping his earlobes warm and toasty doesn't get in the way of Matt Damon's listening skills, as he consults with costars while filming The Bourne Ultimatum in Paris's Tuileries garden on Wednesday.

  • A Running the Sahara update from DATA's Tayloe Emery is on the one.org/blog site, including:

"We arrived in Timbuktu today by plane after spending the night in Bamako. It's a beautiful city full of Tuareg tribesmen and centuries old mosques, I love it here already.

The runners are still in Mauritania but heading toward the Mali border. Everywhere they go people ask them about the white bands they are wearing and they proudly tell them that they are supporters of ONE. You can see some new photos of them with the white bands at the runningthesahara.com website.

After the runners enter Mali they will head toward Timbuktu and we will tour an Africare's water irrigation project that is providing food and water to more than 30k people!"

  • A London sighting from the Mirror:

Matt Damon dining with friends at private members club Fifty in St James's, Central London.

  • From an interview with Ben at the Metro:

Are you and Matt Damon rivals?

No. Stuff like that is just meaningless, although, of course, people like to make films into horse races. Perhaps we opened ourselves up to that. With Good Will Hunting, there we were, these two friends who brought their mums to the Oscars. How sweet. That story’s done now, so what are you going to say next? Matt’s movie did better than Ben’s, Ben’s movie did better than Matt’s. They’re not that cute. They’re not that sweet. Eventually it will be: F**k these guys, they’re not that good.

I know you can't answer this but I'm wondering if he's very sensitive to the cold. The weather in France is similar to here and its not nearly cold enough for ear muffs it's been a really mild Autumn so far, also in all the pics I've seen of him over the 18 months I've been visiting this site he's always really bundled up even in summer. I'm talking as someone who puts the heating on at the end of August,I haven't even started wearing gloves yet because it's been so mild.

Nice pics by the way, the ear muffs look really cool on him. MP

I grew up mostly in Canada where the winter temps can dip into -40F (or -40C). I did, however, spent five years in S. Florida (where Matt lives) and I can assure you that any taste of cold weather for a while after is almost unbearable. When I returned home to Canada I thought I would DIE of the cold. Just feeling 60F (16C) was enough to chill me to the bone. I'm sure that's why Bostonian Matt wants earmuffs right now.

Cont'd: I don't mean when he's filming, just generally when he's out and about. MP

I've always thought that Matt was very sensitive to cold despite being from Massachusetts. Look how he suffered in "The Bourne Identity." In the scene where Jason meets Marie Matt could hardly talk, it was so cold, and they had to loop his German line in. I don't think he's lived in Florida long enough to become un-acclimatized to cold weather. Some folks just can't handle it as well as others.
