“I had studied a little bit in college,” Matt Damon said of his preparation to play a CIA man in The Good Shepherd. “And Bob [De Niro] had all these great research materials, so I had a pretty solid foundation going in.” Although they’ve both played assassins and thieves on the big screen, Damon and Brad Pitt seemed more interested in catching up on family life at the after-party, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

  • Matt and Robert De Niro have attended a ceremony in Washington Wednesday prior to a screening of The Good Shepherd. Details and a photo are from Getty Images.

Actors Robert De Niro (R) and Matt Damon smile during a presentation of a statue of General William 'Wild Bill' Donovan, the founder of the OSS, prior to a screening of DeNiro's upcoming film 'The Good Shepherd,' December 13, 2006 in Washington, DC. General Donovan founded the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II, which later became the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). DeNiro plays Mr. Donovan in the film.
