Good Shepherd, Actor's Studio photos
  • An article about one extra's experience on The Good Shepherd is at ivillage, including:

At the wrap party for the filming of The Good Shepherd last January, a tired Robert De Niro attempted to make a speech. The actor turned director had become notorious over the 100-day shoot for his "just one more take" approach, and it seemed that even his wrap-party speech could have benefited from this method.

"Thank you, New York... you're the greatest city in the world. No, no, nononono, you're not. You're not the greatest city in the world. Not the greatest, no... you're the best... the best city in the world. Yeah. Thank you... New York." He paused, then pleaded. "Help me out here, will you, Matt?"

Matt Damon, standing nearby with a faint smile on his lips, gamely stepped in with a "Ladies and gentlemen, the bar is open. Good night, and good luck."

My scene featured Matt Damon and Michael Gambon (Dumbledore in Harry Potter), who had been flown in from the U.K. by De Niro for just one day of filming. I had to walk across the room about a dozen times before the directors found a shot they liked, during which time I smoked a dozen filterless cigarettes, each cigarette smoked down to the same point for each take. Gambon sat in the corner and said aloud, to nobody in particular, "God, I'm bored." You couldn't blame him, really. Damon, on the other hand, beamed at anyone who caught his eye.

  • From author Steven King's end of year wrap of the 10 best movies in Entertainment Weekly, thanks to Sammie323's Effluvia:

    3. The Departed. Ensemble "star power" movies hardly ever work, but when they do, they can be cool. The Departed is ‘can’t-take-your-eyes-off-it’ entertainment. Matt Damon continues to amaze me with his versatility.

  • And an item in In Touch magazine, also thanks to Sammie:

Matt Damon cheered on pal Jesse Itzler, co-owner of Marquis Jet, on November 19 when Jesse ran a 100-mile marathon in Texas to raise $1 million for charity. Jesse even donated $500,000 of his own money.

  • Part of a report on the Good Shepherd premiere at elitestv:

Young actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays the son of Damon and Jolie in the movie, had a delightful anecdote about how he’d learned that Angelina was pregnant with daughter Shiloh while shooting in the Dominican Republic: "We were rehearsing this scene and practicing, and Matt was discussing how he was having a child and how excited he was and Angelina kind of leaned over and said, You know guys, theres something I want to tell you. Im also pregnant’, at which point I started having severe child envy. I was like, Wait a second guys, dont you think its a bit disrespectful in front of your son?"

    USA Weekend

Can anyone transcribe a short question and answer or item in the latest 'Celebs' column from USA Weekend by Lorrie Lynch - 17 December issue?

The website hasn't updated, but they've teased an item about Kimmel and Matt (and I'm hoping this is a definitive response that can stop the constant accusations).

    Thanks.

It is just a poll from aol movies called, who got snubbed in movies, and matt is the leader by 21%. i am glad there are other people that agree with us.

also a quote from aol movies:

    "Best Actor - Drama

Wha?!?! Moment Poor Matt Damon. He was acting right up there alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Departed,' and yet no mention of his name."
