Inside the Actor's Studio
  • A reminder that Matt will be on Inside the Actor's Studio tonight on Bravo. It will be repeated at later dates.

  • The Good Shepherd made approximately $14.1 million over the four-day weekend, for a total of $38.3 million (earning more in the second weekend than the first).

  • Another Miami sighting:

Matt Damon was spotted with wife Luciana having dinner at La Locanda restaurant on Washington Avenue last Wednesday night. According to sources, Damon was also seen playing golf earlier that afternoon at the Miami Beach Golf Club.

    Actor's Studio

We in the UK get the Actor's Studio on the Performance Channel and not Bravo. Does anyone know how long it takes the programme to air in the UK - so I can look out for it. thanks Jan

You could try emailing them. They're based in Bristol and contact details are on their website.

When I've done this in the past for other things, I've usually gotten a response. MP

    Inside the Actor's Studio

I just finished watching the episode. It's a gem! Matt was witty and quite humorous. He had so much family in attendance that they took up the entire first row. = )
Lucy, Alexia, and Isabella were there just to name a few.
    Did anyone else watch?

Not yet, Susan -- I forgot it was going to be on, so I'm recording one of the next showings. Can't wait to see it -- thanks for the snapshot review!

    Actor's Studio

Saw the episode with Matt tonight. I agree he was great, even better than I had hoped. He looked relaxed, and was forthcoming with many personal details. Lipton quoted "Variety" as saying that Matt "is the thinking man's movie star". Lipton was clearly in tune with the effectiveness of Matt's minimalist performance in TGS and seemed to understand and illustrate how Matt had given great performances in many of his films--he referenced Ripley as demonstrating Matt's expertise with complex roles. Matt praised Angelina much more than he would have had to for publicity's sake. He seems to have genuine admiration for her talent and independence as well as her beauty. One of the best moments happened while Matt was describing Nicholson's method on The Departed. He had to use a four letter word to quote Jack, but before he did, he looked out in the audience and saw his stepdaughter asleep on Lucy's lap and then said he had to make sure she couldn't hear the word--and then said the line with the word in it. This is really a stand-up guy; I appreciate him more as a human being each time I see him. We know he's a great actor. I saw TGS: his is an intricate, interior performance that, if you let yourself empathize with Wilson's position, makes your blood run cold. In a sane world it would be a sure Oscar nomination.

They also mentioned that episodes of "Actor's Studio" could be downloaded on iTunes, so all you video iPoders out there could probably do that right now in the UK or anywhere. Happy downloading! Really great interview!

    Re: Actor's Studio

Thanks for the detailed summary Island Boy.

I can't find Matt's episode on iTunes at this stage, and could only find six episodes of ITAS available. If other readers can find it, please tell me how you did it!

    Matt's comment about Bush

I just watched Matt on Actors Studio. Was enjoying it until He made personal remarks eluding the President not being and intelligent, etc.
I believe we have a right to not agree with the Presidents politics but not to attack him on a personal level, when you don't know the man personally. Because I am from Texas, and because I have an accent I am sometime percived as being slow and therefore not to bright. The same with Mr Damon' Boston accent might be percived as snooty.
