New Ultimatum posters
  • New international posters for The Bourne Ultimatum are from IMP Awards, via Slashfilm. The credits listing on the poster includes two new cast members not previously announced: Scott Glenn and Albert Finney.

  • Matt is listed at number 52 on the latest Forbes top Celebrity 100 list, with reported earnings of $24 million last year. Details from Forbes.com, with various rankings available at the site (pay, web, press, TV/radio):

Earned raves for his performance in Martin Scorsese's The Departed, but earned the big bucks for this summer's The Bourne Ultimatum, the third installment in the Robert Ludlum-adapted Bourne series, which has grossed $500 million to date. Damon also co-stars in Ocean's 13 with pals Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

  • A late report on the Los Angeles premiere of Ocean's Thirteen from here:

Matt Damon was also full of old Hollywood glamour and arrived with his gorgeous wife Luciana Barroso. Between screams from fans and all the flash bulbs, he was heard amusedly remarking to his wife "this is crazy". He also graciously let everyone know, "Brad is right back there," referencing Pitt’s highly anticipated arrival with his unexpected guest, Angelina Jolie, who were on Hollywood Boulevard busily signing autographs with fans.

    Poster

Interesting poster --- and a different but clever way to market the movie and Matt. I like, "Matt Damon is Jason Bourne," sort of like, "Sean Connery is James Bond."
If these are international posters, then I wonder if the U.S. posters will be the same. Thanks for posting these -- very interesting!

    Re: Poster

I think the 'Matt Damon is Jason Bourne' tagline has been with all three movies.

The poster is quite similar to the one for "Shooter", the Bourne rip-off. Except Shooter, of course, has a much larger gun.

    Cast

There's some new cast members on the poster in the small print - Scott Glenn and Albert Finney. I knew about Glenn but there's been no rumors of Finney's appearance. Julia Stiles also gets second credit ahead of Joan Allen.

    Re: P.S.

He also sounded like he had a cold in Cannes and if you remember, back in Berlin at the Biennale. I think he said it was allergies. Too many flights is my guess.

Love the new poster - can't wait to see him staring down at me from a London bus. Oh and finally going to see Ocean's 13 tomorrow.

Felicity - keep meaning to say thanks for the links on the right hand side. So thanks! Jan

    Poster

The poster looks like an homage for "A Clockwork Orange". Remember the Malcolm MacDowell shot with the derby on his head? There's some of the "run-amoker" in Jason Bourne, too.

He looks like one of those guys in X Men in those posters! :-)

Listened to an interview on Radio 2 with Robert De Niro talking about The Good Shepherd, which is out on DVD today. He had high praise for Matt and all the actors who took part. He's still wants to do a part 2 from the Bay of Pigs incident which closes the film to the end of the Cold War when the Berlin wall came down in 1989.

He also praised the cast for cutting their salaries, but said Matt made the largest cut and thereby ensured the movie could be made, he sounded like he adored him. The interview was maybe five minutes on De Niro's mobile phone on the streets of New York.

I'm quite happy to wait and see Oceans 13 on DVD, no real passion to dash out and see it, I know I'll enjoy it as I enjoyed the first two but no fire in my belly to see it in the cinema.

Shall reserve judgement on the poster, will let it grow on me before I comment.

Also in the Times on Saturday the Body and Soul section had a special about male friendships. In the thirties age group it referenced Ben and Matt and had this quote from Ben I thought you would find interesting: 'If I woke up in a hotel room with a dead hooker beside me Matt would be the first person I would call.' Classy. Marcia

Noticed on the poster its got the UK release date on it and in the UK format (day, month, year). Do you know if the poster will be different for the US or have they delayed the release date there? Marcia

As stated it is the international version of the poster, which may or may not be made into a similar version for the US. Tis the UK release date though.

The hooker line from Ben came from one of the first interviews for GWH in People magazine, and he then repeated it on Oprah.

Sorry, missed that it was the international release date, just back off holiday so that's my excuse. I don't really follow Ben's career so hadn't seen that quote before. It made me smile though, I guess I'm not missing much where he's concerned. Marcia

that poster makes him look like he's divided against himself. wonder if they've got a regrouping of marketing plans if say the power of promotion comes to be lost or that old movie making power is broken, what then? success of a movie means varied things to different movie makers suppose

    thanks for sharing

Bodes well for the film I hope.

Pictures on Just Jared of Matt with Ben Affleck and family holidaying in Hawaii (and well deserved)

    Re: Emerald City

Imperial Life in the Emerald City was the winner of the BBC4 book prize. I understand it is the most important book prize for non fiction. So there will already be a buzz about it. Information on the link in my above post. Jan.
