Matt to be on The Simpsons, radio interview, photos
  • A lengthy and interesting interview with Matt by Edith Bowman at BBC's Radio One is here. Photos of Matt arriving at the studio are at Just Jared and PopSugar.

  • Army Archerd reports here that Matt will be voicing a character (or appearing as himself) on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

Matt Damon is the catalyst for the hilarity in "Lost Verizon." That's the takeoff title for KABF15-- the 15th episode in the 19th season of "The Simpsons."

Hank [Azaria] also read Matt Damon's role since he isn't needed until later in the month for the actual recording session.

  • More photos below from the premiere and after-party for The Bourne Ultimatum in London. A report from the after-party is here.

Thanks. It's going to get very quiet for a long time pretty soon, so I'm enjoying the news and photos while the blitz continues.

Matt's interview on UK show GMTV is now available on their website in two parts:

Loved the Edith Bowman interview. He said so much that I agree with. So funny his story about Amy Winehouse's Rehab song. My favourite song of the year (her album is damn near perfect I think), I love her voice, she really has a unique sound. I'm really hoping she can turn her life around and get the help she needs to recover from her drink/drugs problem.

I'm also looking forward to seeing him in The Simpsons. Thanks for all your hard work Felicity. You keep this a premier site. Marcia

    This morning

I've seen a report that Matt would be on 'This morning' today - Friday. Is that the Richard and Judy show?

No video yet on the site.

    Re: This morning

No. Richard & Judy is on at 5pm on Channel 4. This Morning is a mid-morning show on ITV1. Not very good but can be absolutely hysterical when Ferne & Philip (the presenters)corpse. They end up crying with laughter and can't carry on. I've watched that show with tears in my eyes. It would be great if something set them off when talking to Matt (once they laughed just by eating roast beef!!) - you had to be there!! Frustratingly I walk past the studio every morning - but not this morning.

I think GMTV was pre-recorded - no way Matt was that bright-eye at 7.30!! I was only able to catch half of Edith Bowman - the video stream gave up. Can anyone fill me in on the Amy Winehouse story? Thanks. Jan

This morning Matt was the subject of the 60 second questions...

And there was a report in the Evening Standard from the London press converence: www.thisislondon.co.uk/film/article-23408591-details/Damon+hails+%27action+hero+with+brains%27/article.do

Felicity did you catch the Times review - amazing!

    Re: This morning

Try again with the Edith Bowman interview - it gets more personal at the end.

Edith asks him if he likes music and Matt says yes, "we still listen to a lot of music around the house and my daughter actually loves music." Edith asks about singing "Afternoon Delight" to his nephews and Matt says "I'll sing just about anything but that's not where her love of music comes from."

Matt says his song choice after the intv is Amy Winehouse's 'Gone to rehab', because "We played it this summer. Some friends of ours recommended it to us. We played it in the car, we were driving to the beach."

Matt says "my step-daughter just loved it", and she and her cousin kept saying play song one, play song one (and they wouldn't let him get past song one) - the rehab song. Matt says "my wife and I were looking at each other like, 'oh, man."

But eventually they work out Alexia and her cousin are singing "Go to Reho", not rehab. And Alexia's asking if Matt's been to Reho, and where is it, and he's saying it's in California, some nice summery flowery place. "So all summer long, that was our song."

    Cute story.

And yep, great reviews all round from the UK, except for Derek Malcolm.

There's a youtube clip of Matt singing the sequel ideas from the London press conference - I'll link it later.

    Re: This morning

Thanks Felicity! It was just reported today that Amy Winehouse is back in rehab. She's just cancelled the V Festival.

Isn't it past your bedtime? Jan

Not sure whether any Australian fans already knew this, but there is a two page article in Austrlian OK magazine. Nothing much in any other magazines, just a stupid comment in NW magazine with a photo and a caption exclaiming Matt looks more like an accountant in his suit than a movie star. As you can guess I did not purchase this magazine lol!!!

Thanks Kylie, I had the Australian OK magazine listed in my summary of magazines (top of site), but have taken it off. Matt did separate interviews with the US, UK and Australian versions of OK. (The UK version is great, with some interesting quotes and great photos.)

As usual, for all of Matt's promotional appearances in Australia, the only magazines that had decent coverage were Who and OK (and Filmink, but that's such an awful magazine it doesn't really count, as the interviews are full of errors).

    Glamour UK

Matt's also featured in the September issue of Glamour magazine (UK). Don't know what the interview's like, but here's a link to the cover.

Matt was interviewed by the BBC Radio 4 Film Programme - a more serious interview.
