Love that photo, looks like he's really having a blast! I'm still keeping my fingers and toes crossed that he can do Imperial Life with Paul Greengrass, even if it's only a cameo appearance.

Preo-ordered The Bourne Collection yesterday, now all I have to do is be patient and wait until 10th Dec.

Also thought I'd add my opinion of why Jason Bourne appeals to women. For me there is a vulnerability about the character and a tenderness to him that's usually missing in action movies because I think they're designed to appeal to a predominentaly masculine audience and those sort of qualities are viewed as 'feminine'and therefore weak. Also in action movies women are little more than eye-candy or victims, but Marie wasn't the usual Hollywood type. Not stick-thin, pretty but not beautiful, difficult and argumentative, definitely not a doormat.

Matt and Franka had that rare thing in Hollywood: genuine chemistry, the relationship to me felt very real. They loved each other but it wasn't perfect and she was allowed to use her intelligence and to challenge his authority. A rare thing these days. I don't know if that is how her character was written but I'm glad Doug Liman cast the part so well.

Sorry about the length of the post, and you can delete if you think it's not relevant. Marcia

Your words touched me, Marcia. From the guy point of view (at least mine), the most important thing is to have, as Bourne had in Marie, a woman his equal in many ways who loved him in spite (or maybe because )of the fact he's broken inside. It takes a strong, caring woman to see the good in Jason and to nurture him. You ladies have that power. Jason truly needed Marie. I mourned her passing.

The Bourne series can be seen as an allegory. Trust Matt to get involved in the creation of what is only on its face an action series but also addresses much deeper levels of human need and healing.

Thanks for your comment, Marcia. Got me to thinking.
