For Damon, wedding will have to wait
Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso probably won't get hitched until next year. That's the word from the actor's publicist, who said yesterday the hardest-working man in Hollywood doesn't have a lot of downtime. Jennifer Allen revealed that "The Bourne Identity" star proposed to Barroso in the Big Apple, where he's currently shooting "The Good Shepherd" with Robert De Niro.
"They've been telling their friends because they're so happy," said Allen. "We didn't make an announcement. We just said 'yes' when US Weekly called and asked." Damon, who's dated Barroso for about two years, just wrapped "The Departed" with Martin Scorsese and starts shooting Kenneth Lonergan's new movie, "Margaret," after the new year.
Barroso, who's been married once before and has a 6-year-old daughter, is in her late 20s. Before hooking up with the Cambridge-bred actor, she worked as a bartender in Miami. Not coincidentally, Damon, who'll turn 35 in October, recently paid $10.3 million for a 9,500-square-foot spread in Miami Beach. The nine-bedroom estate on exclusive North Bay Road is within walking distance of homes owned by Billy Joel, Iggy Pop, Shakira, and Calvin Klein.
Shane Black: The actors become so stamped on your brain, it's impossible to look back and imagine someone else playing them. Maybe Matt Damon... [Laughter]
VK: Matt's a God.
SB: It's true. It's one of those fortunate pairings [Downey Jr. and Kilmer]...
