Various

It's a sad year for classy movies with the loss of Misters Minghella and Pollack. So few are left in Hollywood like them.

I would give my right arm to attend that symposium at MoMA. (Unfortunately, that's about what it would take as I live 1500 miles away!) Jason Bourne is the most fascinating movie character to come down the pike in decades, imho. Perhaps we'll get some feedback about it after the fact?

I respected Good Sheperd more than I liked it. I thought the major problem was really pacing and that more scenes delineating the strained relationship between father/son/wife/ were needed to give the ending impact. But Matt was spot-on according to Cate Blanchett. She called it her favorite performance of the year, and she knows a thing or two. The sequel is supposed to have more action, so that should help the public reception, and it would be fun to see Angelina play a full-out lush.

Ditto the comments about the site. In chronicling the public life of one actor you are also providing a fascinating snapshot into the movie biz in this era.
