Quantom of Solace review coins "Bournian" as new term

It's funny timing that word that Universal's ordered a new Bourne script at the same time a review of the new James Bond film "Quantom of Solace" appears from the UK. The review reference Bourne, but not in a good way for the Bond movie (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/38784): "... an extremely Bournian rooftop pursuit ... disorientating in the extreme: too fast, too sloppy and too ruthlessly edited... Fight scenes often seem practised and stagey...perhaps former Paul Greengrass protege Dan Bradley should be held responsible...as Bond jumps through yet another window, you may feel like yelling, Alan Partridge style, "STOP GETTING BOURNE WRONG!")..." Loved the reference "Bournian", funny, eh? About the 4th Bourne. Thank heaven that at least they aren't using the lousy Bourne books written by Eric Van Lustbader. Besides a few feeble attempts to relate the "new" Bourne to the original one, the Jason Bourne in these books has NOTHING to do with the original Jason Bourne or even the JB from Matt's movies. Just a generic protagonist. But I digress - about the movie. Of course I want more Bourne, but find it hard to believe that a 4th movie will be as good as the others, so I'd prefer, like you, no more Bourne movies. -- As always, thanks for this great website! Take care, Cheryl

Re: Quantom of Solace review coins "Bournian" as new term

Thanks for the Bond review (and criticisms of it!) Cheryl. The Bond people keep denying their films have any relationship to Bourne, but they keep stealing elements, and personnel. I'm sure Bond will be a huge success, much bigger than Ultimatum, but Bourne has undeniably helped it find its renewed spark.
