American Cinematheque Award
  • Matt's career and humanitarian work was celebrated at the American Cinematheque Award in Los Angeles on Saturday. Friends roasting Matt at the event, to be broadcast on ABC, included Ben, Jennifer Garner, Clint Eastwood, Robin Williams, Charlize Theron, Greg Kinnear and Paul Greengrass. Photos are from Zimbio and PicApp, with more at Celebrity-gossip.net. Great photos of Matt with Lucy backstage and meeting guests are at Wireimage. More photos will be posted later.

  • Interviews with Matt to promote the event were at the Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Damon's easygoing, sunny personality seems an odd fit for Bourne's tormented, haunted character, but then, Damon is an actor. "I have demons and stress like anyone else, but hopefully I've got them under control, and then I just let them out for work, which is always healthier," he says.

The actor has balanced high-profile projects and starring roles with smaller supporting roles in such arthouse films as "Che" and "Youth Without Youth."

"They're really cameos for friends, and I love doing that," he reports. "I was in Spain promoting the last 'Bourne' movie, and 'Che' was on such a shoestring budget while they were shooting (in Spain) that I managed to squeeze in a day's shoot for Steven in between interviews for 'Bourne.' And then Coppola called me about 'Youth' and talked about Ingmar Bergman and how he wanted a similar small ensemble of actors, and I told him I'd go anywhere to do it for him. So I flew to Bucharest for one day to do those few scenes."

    Re: American Cinematheque Award

Apologies for not posting any more photos but my computer's sick - will hopefully post more tomorrow.

You're right - it's Matt's brother and his wife Lori, and Kent and his wife Celeste at their table with Ben and Jen, Casey and Summer and Lucy's mother. Plus one other younger woman I can't recognise.

Love these photos of Matt and Lucy but haven't found versions yet which aren't watermarked.

sounds like it was a good time. I have to say I was a bit disappointed by the celeb turn out. Matt's a popular guy in Hollywood I would have thought there would have been more celebs there to celebrate him.
