  • A positive review of new documentary American Teacher, narrated by Matt, is at Variety. Another review is at Education Week Teacher. The invitation to the New York premiere tonight is here.

  • Author John Grisham told the National Post that The Rainmaker is his favourite book to film adaptation.

His favourite adaptation of his work, by the way? That would be The Rainmaker with Matt Damon. A Time to Kill, meanwhile — with a young Matthew McConaughey — he ranks as “a good one,” not “great,” as he does The Pelican Brief, with Julia Roberts. And the very bottom of the DVD pile, in his esteemed opinion? That’d be The Chamber, with Chris O’Donnell.

  • A TEDx talk by Neill Blomkamp on singularity and the future of the planet may be of interest - available here.

  • Colin Ford talked about working with Matt and We Bought A Zoo at Celebuzz:

Question: Who are some of the actors that you look up to or would like to model your career after?
Ford: Matt Damon has been one of my greatest influences. Sandra Bullock is someone I think is fantastic. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Reese Witherspoon, and I would love to model my career after her. Especially since she went to Stanford, because education is really important to me. I would love to follow in her footsteps.

Question:What was it like working with Matt Damon on the upcoming film, We Bought a Zoo?
Ford: Matt was amazing. Scarlett Johansson was amazing as well. Matt was the most down-to-earth and nicest guy I’ve ever worked with. He’s just a great actor and person.

Question: What are some of the most fun memories you took away from that?
Ford: This is just one of the best films I’ve had the opportunity to work on. Matt would bring his daughter who is in love with Jake, and the girl who plays my little sister also has a little sister who is in love with Jake, so on the set, I’d be known as Jake. It was pretty funny.

  • Joel McHale talked about working with Matt at the Portland Tribune:

Tribune: You’ve played roles in several films, including an FBI agent alongside Matt Damon in “The Informant.” What was that like?
McHale: They say never meet your heroes, but he’s one of those people you do want to meet. He’s such a good guy, so smart, so dreamy to look at. I was very fortunate getting to work with Matt and (director) Steven Soderbergh in my first large role in a movie. Matt’s performance was amazing. It was one of those things where I would have paid to be there it was so great. It was how you would want a massively famous movie star to be like.

  • Can anybody access the interview with Matt in the June issue of FHM South Africa? Here's a description of the Q&A:
