Concert pics
  • Matt and Lucy attended a Guns N'Roses concert in New York on Thursday night. Photos and reports are at PopSugar, ABC, Vogue, NY Observer, New York Magazine, WWD and the NY Post.

On Thursday night, Chelsea Clinton partied like a rock star at the DeLeón Tequila-presented Guns N’ Roses concert at Hiro Ballroom. She strode through the packed house with husband Marc Mezvinsky and sat at an upstairs table with Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, along with a solo Justin Timberlake.

Sudeikis was sporting a baseball cap pulled down low in an attempt to keep a low profile and arrived early with friends to hold court a table near the stage and was later joined by gal pal Wilde and Fallon. Clinton, Damon and Timberlake took in the concert from upstairs VIP area. Clinton's husband, Marc Mezvinsky, affectionately had his arm draped around his wife during the concert as they laughed with friends.

A source tells us when the former first daughter first arrived with her happy hubby, event staffers attempted to clear the table right next to Matt Damon's to sit the couple. But Clinton apologized to the guests who were seated there who were nearly evacuated, and let event staffers know she didn't mind squeezing in with her "good friend Matt (Damon)."

Meanwhile across town, things were just heating up at Hiro Ballroom where a star-studded crowd waited for Guns N’ Roses to perform. The sprawling space was illuminated with hanging Chinese lanterns, and a throng of partygoers pressed up against the stage in excited anticipation. Olivia Wilde and her boyfriend, Jason Sudeikis, tucked into a booth to catch the show, while Evan Rachel Wood and Sienna Miller, who looked very rock ’n’ roll in a red flannel shirt, camped out in the VIP section. Others took refuge on the balcony of the upstairs bar, where Matt Damon and Justin Timberlake held court with an entourage of friends, including Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky. The crowd erupted when long after midnight, Axl Rose finally appeared onstage, sporting a black top hat as he led the band in classics like “Used to Love Her” and “Paradise City.”

    Another report

Another link I found that has a pic of Chelsea Clinton with Simone de la rue. According to this Matt did not go to the afterparty so all pics are from the concert.

An interview with the Daily Mail to promote Zoo which doesn't contain any new info - appears to be from the NY junket. But it does have the bear suit photos by Sam Jones:

    Future of Bourne

An article at Indiewire about the future of Bourne, and whether Universal will want/need Matt and Paul to return to the franchise:

(And yes, Safe House was an amazing Bourne rip-off. Many scenes were very similar and they used a Bourne editor, cinematographer and producer.)

    Re: Future of Bourne

Matt is turning 42 this year, and honestly, I don't see him making a new Bourne movie at his 45 or 46. With all that means: months of filming abroad, the hard training, the reshoots, etc. From what I see lately, he chooses films that he can shoot close to home or take his family with him.

And, even though his later works were not big hits, I don't see him desperate to return to Bourne (or make any other blockbuster, for that matters) I think he is in another moment of his life. Just look at the theme of the movies he chooses to do now; more adult, more family oriented.

Ironically, Matt tries to leave Jason Bourne behind, and all the others (Denzel, Reynolds, Lautner, Whalberg, etc, etc) would sell their souls for that role.

As for Universal, well .. they are just another greedy studio. Why would they want Matt & Paul back when they have a puppet easy to master (Renner) and a bunch of Bourne ripp-offs who make easy hits???

So,sadly,I think that is very unlikely to see Matt as Jason Bourne again :(

    Re: Future of Bourne

I knew all that studio blather about "we're not replacing Matt Damon" was crap all along. They won't get my money.

    Re: Future of Bourne

I read this article and just went 'groan'. I know Matt has said it would be good for him and Paul if the movie did good but I hope it dies miserably at the box office. I'm sorry you can't do a Bourne movie without Matt.

On a side note it's incredible how there can be several Matt sightings in one day and then none for several days. If it weren't for him showing up at fashion show events last week it would have gone silent again. I was wondering if he would take a short trip with the girls since they were off of school mon & tues. If they did, it didn't make the news. Good for him though.

    Oscar talk

Cameron Crowe and Matt talk about the Oscar experience - likely to be part of a series of interviews at Sky Movies (UK) to run in the next few weeks:

    Re: Oscar talk

I wonder who the girlfriend was that Matt mentioned...He must have rebounded quickly after Minnie Driver. I liked his story, even though it was a little melodramatic.

Too bad he won't be making any Oscar appearances this year :/

    Re: Oscar talk

I don't know the timing, but he's been telling that story for many years.

The sightings of Matt at the gym have returned, which would indicate that the filming of 'Promised Land' is getting closer. Only one crew member has been added to IMDB though, and no further casting news.

Thank you - I hadn't seen that before. Definitely from the Zoo junket.
