Matt Damon slices and dices like a pro
He acts. He writes. He plans to direct. The one thing admittedly Matt Damon can't quite hack in real life?
"I suck. I suck," said Damon. "Growing up, our mother used to make us cook one night a week. I would try to manipulate my way out of it. But she was pretty good about making us do it. Beef Stroganoff was my signature dish."
Nevertheless, Damon donned chef whites to serve as assistant to culinary stars Ming Tsai and Mario Batali at Tuesday's CookingLive! fundraiser, benefitting the Family Reach Foundation. The group helps families whose children have cancer by taking care of necessities like rent and utilities.
Damon, a father of four, got involved through his own family. "My brother and his wife are really close with the executive director. He called me and said to put this on my calendar," said Damon, there with his wife Lucy.
