What do you eat during a Matt Damon movie?
I can't watch any movie without popcorn. Even at my own premieres. It's really bad; I have to have it. I physically can't watch a movie without a big box of popcorn and a soda.

Do you make anything for you kids?
Maybe pancakes. But if anyone asks for blueberries or chocolate chips then forget it, it's back to the bullpen.

After weeks of being away filming, what do you want waiting for you at home?
My wife makes an amazing Milanese. And for dessert, well, I've been called a simpleton, but I love a hot fudge sundae. A Friendly's hot fudge sundae... oh man.

"Well, I don't think anyone will actually have to eat what I cook," Damon confesses. "I think they will do a little switcheroo."

[From the E News interview, thanks to Paula]
When asked if Lucy gave him pointers - "She didn't really want to help me out. I think she wants to watch me fail."

  • Photos of Lucy and Matt's brother Kyle at the event are at Men Who Dine's Facebook and Kitchen Aid's Facebook.

  • Matt and Ben will produce, and Casey will star, in a new Pearl Street film about the race to the South Pole - details at the Hollywood Reporter.

  • Cute photos of Matt, Isabella and Gia eating ice-cream and blowing bubbles after school in New York are at the Daily Mail.

    Thanks for all the updates

I have been out of town for a few weeks and it is great to see the news and the pictures. Matt's looking very fit!

    Daily Mail Pics

As much as I hate the Daily Mail, those pics of Matt with his girls are adorable. Marcia

    Re: Daily Mail Pics

The photos are gorgeous (and hopefully won't lead to more pics taken near the school). I love that Isabella's wearing a pair of boots which are very similar to a pair worn by Lucy.

More pics may show up elsewhere, but others in the series are at Grosby Group (small pics only):

One photo (without kids) is at E:

I love all the photos you have posted recently. Matt looks very fit, Lucy was all smiles. And Matt with his girls ... are simply adorable.

There are a few quotes by Matt (nothing really new) in the Clint Eastwood profile in Esquire:

    Race to the South Pole

What do you think about Paul Greengrass as director for Race to the South Pole? I like the idea - he cut his teeth making documentaries and he's a great action director who has a feel for intense emotion. It sounds to me like an expensive and difficult movie to make, however, given the extreme cold and location shooting. I'm kind of shocked the studio okayed it with only Casey on board.

But as you said the story is a compelling one and with the right script I'll bet they could get their pick of action directors.

Matt and Gary White are being interviewed for Bloomberg's Rewind program tonight. There are various twitpics of Matt and Gary in the studio.

A snippet of the Bloomberg Rewind interview is now online, with the full interview to air next week:

The Clinton Global Initiative starts Sunday, and Matt is not officially listed as a speaker or guest.

    Re: Bloomberg

My fave twitpic is the one showing a big crowd gathered in the lobby around the glass walled studio, with the caption "What happens when Matt Damon comes to Bloomberg"

Race to the South Pole & Water.org

My first thought was Ron Howard.
It reminded me of Gerry, also with Casey.
And then, Running the Sahara, recurring topic for Matt.

I became a fan when I learnt about his work with water.
I had the idea he was intelligent and kind of amazing and I always liked him,
but I didn´t google him or anything like I do now.

So, Thanks for keeping this great blog! Always updated and friendly!

I nominated Water.org for the TEDPrize.
I´m sure I´m not the only one. I hope they get it!

First promised land trailer is up @ msn.uk

    Re: Trailer and poster

Some of the stills we saw earlier were beautiful, but the look of this trailer is dark and gritty. Maybe that's the idea? I'm not sure what I think about that. I saw one still of Matt with an American flag backdrop and I don't understand why that shot's not in the trailer - it was arresting. It's hard to draw to much of a conclusion about the movie, since studios in general (and Universal in particular) make terrible trailers.

As far as America goes, it's a story that desperately needs to be told, but whether people are up to hearing it is an open question. Has any movie about anything remotely important been a hit in the last few years? It's sure to be attacked viciously by the fracking industry.
    I like the poster.

    Re: Trailer and poster

I think it's meant to look dark but somebody else commented on that too. I did like the trailer and am not turned off by it. It's something I would go see. I'm actually excited to see Matt and John working together.

    Re: Trailer and poster

I would go see it -- it has an Indie feel to it.

    Re: Trailer and poster

It only cost about $15 million or less, so that's probably an indie these days.

    The official Facebook page:

One of the crew commented that he's heard it had been screening "very well"

The American flag backdrop is one of the last images in the trailer. And the great cinematography was mentioned following the first test screening.
