-The "pitch" will obviously resonate in France where the shale gas debate raises for two years and where hydraulic fracturing was banned in 2011 because of the risk it poses to the environment.
Some 130 preview are planned throughout France from next week, according to the distributor.
Minister for Ecology Delphine Batho, "this is a film telling the behind the scenes of the development of shale gas in the United States and in particular the methods of oil companies."
"This is a committed film, undeniably," he told AFP the minister, currently in Canada.
The question is not decided whether the content of the discussions carried out during screenings will be paid to the national debate on energy transition. This debate was launched by the government to reduce the share of nuclear power, developing renewable energy and reduce our energy consumption.-
Promised Land will released on April 17th. Still one month to wait!! It's a good promotion for the movie and, as Matt said in Berlinale, if it didn't do well in the USA, I hope it will do better in the rest of the world!
And finally, Matt seems to attend Cannes's Festival, but I can't read the whole article!:
