    Matt in LA on Thursday:

A question came out of my mind. Who was Matt's best man? Ben?
mattdamoncolumn From: mattdamoncolumn Date: August 22nd, 2014 11:24 am (UTC) (Link)
It was never revealed, or Matt may not have had one. Certainly nobody was at the civil ceremony, but Ben did attend the renewal of vows.

    Thank you.

if he had one at the renewal of vows, my guess is kyle. back in the late 1990s when ben used to answer questions on affleck.com, he said casey would be his best man.

    Re: Photos

    Great photos, thanks.

I think the ride Matt is on (the one with the sun-type emblem on the front) is the roller coaster, which apparently is called 'California Screamin'.

    Re: Photos

A photo caption says he rode it twice (thus the different spot in the rollercoaster).

    Re: Photos

Great photos. A bit intrusive, however.
    Lovely little girls.
Gia and Stella are very look alike, almost as if they were twins

what is going on why the ALS ice bucket challenge?? Is he ignoring it? It's been 72 hrs and nothing from his camp. So odd. I get it's water but a reaction would be nice!

    Ice bucket

I was wondering about that myself. He was understandably busy with Gia's birthday, but I thought something might appear by now. Maybe he just decided to donate and leave it at that.

Man Alexia is very tall, she has a bigger body than her own mom. I wonder if she gets bored with all the Disney little girls talk that goes on endlessly amongst her 3 younger sisters while Alexia most likely has boys on her mind now.

    ALS challenge

Great! Very well done, Matt. I knew he would nail it if he ever got around to it. Terrible video quality, though. Did Lucy record it on her phone? Lol.

    Re: ALS challenge

The youtube version uploaded by water.org has much better video quality.

You can just hear one of the girls giggling in the background, particularly when Clooney's name gets mentioned. So cute.

I think the one laughing at George's name is Lucy, or the one who took the video.

    Matt Flicks The Bucket

Not only is he a great actor, he's also a great soul. Way to go, Matt: you're a real citizen of this world!

Excellent! Many kudos, Matt! You found an original way to respond to the challenge by keeping your convictions and promoting water.org, and also putting your personal touch of humor.
It's cute to heard one of the girl laughing.

    Re: Challenge

Could not agree with everyone's sentiments more! He is a great soul :) I'm glad he did it, and didn't compromise anything, but put a unique and cool spin on it. And he used ice. He's simply the best !!!

    Interview with Ridley Scott

Brief discussion with Ridley Scott, mostly about The Martian. Confirms that the movie will film in Europe and Jordon (for exteriors). Starts in November. No specific mention of Matt. Hope he's still attached!

Thanks for the posts everyone. A few articles:

Ridley Scott on The Martian - likely to film in Budapest and Jordan:

Ridley Scott is a busy man. The director, 76, is currently putting the final touches on Exodus: Gods and Monsters, starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton (in theaters Dec. 12). But last week, he told EW a little about his next project, The Martian starring Matt Damon, which is slated for November 2015. “It’s a very good book,” says Scott of Andy Weir’s novel, which was originally self-published in 2012 before being republished by Crown this year. (You can read EW’s review of The Martian here.) The story follows Mark Watney, an astronaut who becomes stranded and assumed dead on Mars after a deadly storm. “It’s like Robinson Crusoe—if you were marooned or shipwrecked, how do you survive?”

Scott says he’s already storyboarded the film and is ready to begin shooting in November. “I think I’m going to shoot in Budapest,” he says. “And we’ll probably shoot in Wadi Rum for Mars. I like Wadi Rum—it’s the best view I’ve ever seen of what could be Mars.” (The alien-looking location in Jordan has been used in Lawrence of Arabia and, more recently, for some of Scott’s Exodus.)

Matt's challenges were George Clooney, Bono and Tom Brady.
