Re: BAFTA red carpet

Louie - Paula is ALWAYS on the money. You and that 3d Blu ray player on your large TV, lol, stop bragging, LOL :) Woah didn't picture you up in the Northwest. Sounds really nice! L.A. - not going back. Hey I call it home, but I bet you knew that, but I'm a transplant from NJ by way of VA for college. I love seeing other places, even spent a few yrs in GA, now that's a place I'm not going back to. Who here could forget Matt singing "My Funny Valentine", it's downloadable on iTunes!! A musical of Matt, now that I'd pay to go see in a heartbeat. He's such a chameleon with all his roles, and THAT is a true actor. And then to see him on the red carpet with his wife enjoying himself is just the cherry on top. He's such a good egg.

Re: BAFTA red carpet

Gregory- Yes, I know you're in L.A.--LOL. But still. the town never spoke to me. I did the stuff I had to do and vamoosed. Different strokes for different folks. Guess what--my mom shot me into the world at Passaic General, and I lived in Clifton and Rutherford for a number of year before and after after a stint of service in Europe. Won't bore you with my peripatetic wanderings thereafter!

Makes me sad everyone doesn't have 3-D. If you like it in the theater, it's even better at home. Nothing like inviting a few friends, as I did a week or so ago, to compare their theater experience with my home showing of The Martian. You actually feel you're there pulling for him--much more immersive. Won't mention 3-D again, except to say you haven't lived until you've got Ann Miller dancing on tabletops in your own home. It's my favorite fun musical and is fine in 2-D, but three-dimensionally--as it was originally shot--it's a blast.

Thanks for the reply, G. You sound like a good egg too!.

Re: BAFTA red carpet

You're a man of wonder. I'm game for a 3D home theater viewing, but you live "way up north" LOL Born & raised in Middletown. So how do you think Matt does as a marine (Green Zone, etc)?

Re: BAFTA red carpet soldies/sailor/SEAL/

Thought he did a good job and thought he was brilliant in "Courage" as a contrast done much earlier. I want to see him do a role as a soldier/sailor/marine/SEAL/Ranger etc. that he plays with Bourne-like intensity. Show his ferocious side--know what I mean? I want to see an inside/outside job playing all the notes of his art in a non-Bourne setting. I'm waiting for it.

Re: BAFTA red carpet soldies/sailor/SEAL/

Hmm, thats an interesting one. I mean he did get in with the marines for Green Zone to try to play it realistically I remember him saying on the special features. And they were impressed that he didn't want to be pampered. I think it'd be interesting to see him do it as you saw with as much intensity as you speak of, but I think that was Green Zone for him. I don't know that he could do it any harder or tougher. Now the musical idea, that's an area he's not done, he's gone in that direction with some light singing in some films (Brothers Grimm, Euro Trip, Ripley, and Will&Grace). I think he could pull it off, but I don't see him as a good singer, he's game though. I wish he'd do another movie where he really disappears like he did with Ripley, Informant, BTC.

Re: BAFTA red carpet soldies/sailor/SEAL/

Unfortunately, that was not Matt singing in Eurotrip, G. And I want ferocity in the role I'm waiting for: not Green Zone "ferocity". I'm talking about the deep rage that comes from the private parts (that's as inoffensive I can get that term!). I want him to let loose his inner boiler-room explosion. I agree about his disappearing into his roles--love that about his art. Good night, G.
