    Bourne BO

As expected, it looks like Bourne (and almost everything else) will get clobbered by Suicide Squad this weekend. From The Hollywood Reporter:

"Among holdovers, Universal's Jason Bourne is falling to No. 2 in its second weekend with a projected weekend take of $23 million, a 61 percent drop and putting the Matt Damon film's domestic total at nearly $140 million."

Given the combination of mediocre reviews and the fact that SS is tracking to open bigger than Deadpool, Bourne may struggle to hit $200m domestic. It astonishes me that WB can stir such fan excitement for their truly terrible superhero movies. People's gullibility never ceases to amaze me. I guess the geniuses in advertising sold cancer packaged as cigarettes for decades by making it look cool, too, and no matter how bad that movie is, watching it won't actually kill anybody. Wow, I'm going dark this morning! Sorry.

    Re: Bourne BO

$200m domestic will be super good result for Jason Bourne, if to remember the anti-company in MASS MEDIA and social networks which were before a release of the movie. Plus presence of such strong competitor. It is necessary to cross fingers for this purpose.

    Re: Bourne BO

Well, Paula, here's something to cheer you up. The genius who decided to open JB between Star Trek and SS was probably someone who was paid a lot of money to do so--incompetence rewarded?. So.... They could have postponed until August 26 and capped the summer with a long-awaited blockbuster. That, of course, is just IMHO; I'm too much an amateur to be trusted to make such decisions. Or am I?

Whatever the case, SS is opening to 145-150 very large ones, a rich harvest for such a maligned film. Jason needs to find the perpetrator who scheduled his opening and thrash him/her.He should tread on them and stone them. Verbally, I mean. Words have power. Consign the critics to Hades, and full speed ahead!

    Film/TV Reel

This is amazing. It's a 12 minute clip reel of every single Damon movie and TV movie in order.

Jason Bourne Review - No Spoilers

I saw it last night, I was away when it opened in the UK. I went as a normal punter with no expectations, I'd avoided reviews and reading anything about it.

Well, I loved it, I really did! The action was fast, a good story concentrating on how he got involved in Treadstone and in showing that he was in a very dark place. I enjoyed the locations, especially Paddington Basin and the old Kodak Factory in Harrow, both of which I know personally. The anti-austerity riot was superbly filmed, it reminded me of what was shown on the news at the time and the still ongoing immigration crisis there and in Southern Europe.

The negatives for me were no mention of Marie or Pamela Landy. I haven't seen the Bourne Legacy, which I think someone mentions what may have happened to Pamela in the comments section. Two thumbs up from me. Marcia

What headings! Not respect to journalists! Or the school does itself a publicity move.

Hubby opened up the newspaper today and said, "Hey, Matt Damon's picture is in the paper" (lol, he knows how I am!) and I looked to find that there's a huge picture of Matt holding a gun as Bourne on page one of the lifestyle section over an article entitled "Guns, Politics, and Hollywood Collide".

I know part of this is the gun lobby trying to misdirect the public's attention, but still.

Matt in China promotes Jason Bourne, but in the Chinese news about it is nothing. Promotion in South Korea was much more active.

The short-form report from a press conference (on Chinese). There are good gif images cheerful Matt and Alicia's
