A more in-depth depth description of the party and a guest list (it's a long list). Article also features a photo of Kenneth Lonergan smiling. I didn't know there were any of those. Lol.

    Great Wall

Press conference this week for Great Wall in China:

That has been followed by the release of the first and second singles from the soundtrack. This week (Dec. 6) sees a large glitzy press conference in Beijing with the full cast in attendance, followed by a one day junket for domestic Chinese press, and then another for South East Asian press who are being flown in.

    RE: Oscar 2017

This is great. Not only is Kimmel genuinely funny, and clever in just the right way, but as Slate said, "The Matt Damon jokes write themselves." Something to look forward to. I desperately needed that!

The only question is just how significant Matt's part will be. Hope he gets together with Kimmel's staff and they come up with something fun.

Did anybody else catch the debut of Incorporated this week and if so what did you think?

    Not any spoilers:

I give it a B+. I enjoy sci-fi and thought the show was effective if not terribly original. I'm interested enough to try it again another time or two, but it needs to get to the meat pretty quickly, I think. The audience needs to know why the protagonist acted as he did. It handled the futuristic environment pretty well but was not as gripping or atmospherically shot as a show like Mr Robot or Sherlock.

    Manchester by the sea

Great quote from Chris Tapley in Variety. Describing Manchester by the Sea, La La Land, and Moonlight.

"... the greatest set of frontrunners the Oscar race has seen in years. The combination of thematic potency, impeccable craft, and precise writing certainly feels unparalleled. That’s reason enough to celebrate, no matter which film walks out of the Dolby Theatre as Hollywood’s champ in February."

    RE: Jason Bourne

    Lol! Beautiful sexy indeed 😂
The latest Jason Bourne look will ALWAYS be my favorite, granted he's still absolutely handsome with the "dad bod", and i know he's more comfortable with that body type because he can have his pasta and beer!!

But I find it very interesting how they choreograph the fight scenes like a dance.
It looks easy but I'm pretty sure it's not

    Great Wall

    My Two Cents:
    Matt needs a social platform.
I know he said no because his words could be misunderstood, but the reality is that now, without a platform to express himself and have control over his own words, he is being misinterpreted all the time.
Irina is right; this is Matt's third consecutive movie that is preceded by controversy. This is not good for his career or for the movies themselves. Matt continues to give interviews as if we were in 1997 and GWH just came out, but the world is no longer the same. In the era of Social Media, each word is analyzed and polemized and Matt with his candid and unedited statements, doesn't look good. I know that makes him an interesting interviewer, but it also ends up hurting him.
(I also realize that this affects him mostly in America, not so much in the rest of the world. And I think it's not a coincidence his movies has better box office abroad)
In any case, I hope Great Wall will not be harmed because it is a movie that I'm really looking forward.

P.S: I'm sorry if what I wrote is too long or if something I said upset someone.

    RE: Great Wall

I'm actually going to have to agree with you here,
Lately he's been doing these movies that look incredible but you go to see them and its a fluffy pop corn movies.
The Martian was GREAT. Bourne, i give that a C.. I understand he is working really hard and in my honest opinion i feel the hollywood and movie industry is slowly spiraling because the lack of originality and stories, not to mention all the bootleggers out there compared to when he was in his early 30s..
He's still an A list actor but he also wants his privacy and shit I don't blame him in todays era of society, people get so offended SO EASILY, Granted it would be interesting to see what he would say if he were to have let's say a Twitter or Snapchat for that matter.
    Would it change anything?
Imo, yes... i think it would.

Sorry for my long comment as well..

    Matt on Social Media

Somehow, I am noy completely offended by Matt's words and I am very excited to see The Great Wall. The plot and actors look very promising and I'm always looking for new faces and talent.

I totally agree that Matt needs a personal social media platform but somehow I don't think that will be such a good idea. It's bad enough that he expresses his opinions through interviews and gets attacked, imagine through social media. People will still find a way to bash on him and leave nasty comments because people take it too far or it was too "offensive." People will always pick and choose things and blow it into a controversy and then try to guilt trip people into not listening or speaking. I'll still support Matt.

    Re: Matt on Social Media

If he writes something on the twitter, he will be attacked at once by people, who don't agree with his political views or who don't distinguish cinema from real life. (anti-gun)). It would be the vicious circle. Him attack , he justify. It is bad. There is one exit - to be silent or say about something neutral. But it will already be not Matt Damon.

Following three days of press interviews, the junket is now over and Matt will return to the US.

Pedro posted on IG a cute pic with Willem Dafoe.

    Great Wall, more footage!

Quite a lot more footage, a few spoilers in terms of character motivations. Almost certainly leaked from China. We get to see Matt & Pedro in their "savage" hair and beard. Also the first footage that piques my interest in the film. I just keep hoping these "hero" voices are dubbed for some reason and not in the final film. Because... ugh.
