Re: Producers Guild Awards

Casey lost the SAG Award today and is probably now likely to lose the Oscar (due to backlash, not merit). Noting that awards are rarely given on merit (see Revenant, La La Land).

Re: Producers Guild Awards

Backlash was weak during a prize season. It can be connected with last year's scandal about a diversity on the Oscar.

RE: Re: Producers Guild Awards

REAllY, it can't be that the other actor was just better. Why is it when a person of color achieves something most say it's because of diversity?

Re: Producers Guild Awards

It is an award of guild of actors. If Oscar's result will be same, we can return to this question, if you want.

Re: Producers Guild Awards

Casey had two lawsuits for sexual harassment. It was obvious that he was going to have some kind of backlash.
(Although I must say he was quite protected by the MSM)

Anyway, you're right. Rarely win the one that deserves it most.
For instance; La La Land is going to win BP, but Moonlight and Manchester are waaaaaay better movies.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
