Now Ben Affleck is accused of groping actress Hilarie Burton when she was a kid.
Also there´s a nauseating video in youtube of Ben all over a reporter.
I know he's Matt's good friend, but if this is true for the love of his daughters I hope Matt don´t make excuses for him or defend him.
    Enough is enough.

So is it safe to assume that his appearance at the premiere (all decked out in an actual suit) means that Matt IS in Thor? Have we seen that verified anywhere?

If so it would explain why he's been working out so hard and why he's in such great shape.

This movie is expected to open to huge numbers, upwards of $90 million.

    Re: Thor

It's a once-only small cameo in a particular scene (if it's true). I think it guarantees he has no further role in any Marvel movie, and wouldn't justify working out now.

A pic from the after-party maybe? Matt, Chris and Kelly Slater!

    Re: Thor

Random that Kelly Slater was in attendance at premiere after party. Matt's working out now would have been too late for when he filmed THOR (if indeed he did, fingers crossed he has a cameo, even if it means he'll never appear in another Marvel film). I recognize the window they're standing in front of at the after party. That's the Spare Room bowling alley/bar in the historic Roosevelt Hotel across the street from the Dolby Theater (where the premiere was).

    OT- Film Criticism Martin Scorcese

I saw this and I agreed with what he said. I haven't seen Mother but his statements about Rotten Tomatoes and Cinemascore are spot on. IMO

Filmmaker Martin Scorsese made the following comment on 'mother!'s Cinemascore:

"Many seemed to take joy in the fact that mother! received an F grade from Cinemascore. This actually became a news story. [The movie] had been "slapped" with the "dreaded" Cinemascore F rating, a terrible distinction that it shares with pictures directed by Robert Altman, Jane Campion, William Friedkin and Steven Soderbergh. After I had a chance to see mother!, I was even more disturbed by this rush to judgment. People seemed to be out for blood, simply because the film couldn't be easily defined or interpreted or reduced to a two-word description. Is it a horror movie, or a dark comedy, or a biblical allegory, or a cautionary fable about moral and environmental devastation? Maybe a little of all of the above, but certainly not just any one of those neat categories."

    He also slammed Rotten Tomatoes.

"Rotten Tomatoes [has] nothing to do with real film criticism. They rate a picture the way you'd rate a horse at the racetrack, a restaurant in a Zagat's guide, or a household appliance in Consumer Reports. They have everything to do with the movie business and absolutely nothing to do with either the creation or the intelligent viewing of film. The filmmaker is reduced to a content manufacturer and the viewer to an unadventurous consumer.

"These firms and aggregators have set a tone that is hostile to serious filmmakers-even the actual name Rotten Tomatoes is insulting. And as film criticism written by passionately engaged people with actual knowledge of film history has gradually faded from the scene, it seems like there are more and more voices out there engaged in pure judgmentalism, people who seem to take pleasure in seeing films and filmmakers rejected, dismissed and in some cases ripped to shreds. Not unlike the increasingly desperate and bloodthirsty crowd near the end of Darren Aronofsky's mother!"

Just something different after all the turmoil this week.

Re: OT- Film Criticism Martin Scorcese

I haven't seen Mother too, and about Rotten tomatoes completely agrees. Many people look at their rating before going to cinema. Downsizing has 65% now. There are no chances to participate in a prize season.

    New Project

From: (Anonymous) Date: October 14th, 2017 06:49 pm (UTC) (Link)

    RE: New Project

Kind of a wild story. There could be a number of interesting parts for actors, depending upon how well written it is, of course. There are so many little stories inside this one article and a couple of them could be developed in interesting ways. Reminds me vaguely of The Untouchables.
From: (Anonymous) Date: October 14th, 2017 03:10 am (UTC) (Link)
These critics are ridiculous. After the near universal raves downsizing got when it premiered in Venice then all of a sudden it's dropping rapidly after another festival or something.

Is there something fishy going on here?

Next years oscars will be the worst lowest viewed oscars ever. The oscars were already turning into a farce since it was getting so political about everything and now the fact that you have all these sexual harassment allegations with major Hollywood producers and actors caught in the mix directly or indirectly. It's going to be a very uncomfortable experience.

Almost no one is safe even a scandal free guy like matt damon. If someone like him could get bad press with no scandals, then what's to say for other actors who are always in the press for the wrong reasons. I'll just be more amplified now.

You have george fricking Clooney being accused of blacklisting an actress during the ER days and now he is being killed on twitter. This has just gone mental. By far hollywoods worst year in decades. Lowest box office in revenue and too many major scandals.
From: iri_na_00 Date: October 14th, 2017 08:15 am (UTC) (Link)
My opinion remains the same-Matt has suffered more than any other actors. Few people read his interviews, and who read, they doesn't believe him. People's opinion is - he defended a sex offender. Other actors whose names have appeared in connection with this scandal( Affleck, Clooney, Momoa, Oliver Stone) is not as guilty as Matt in the eyes of these people. And it is very unfair and frustrating.

Clooney quickly made his claim of his innocence. So it is necessary to do it and not wait for a few days, in the hope that it would stop.

This video, what the man says at 2:08? I can't translate.

I dunno why people are so stupid, specially about the part when Matt said "As a father of 4 daughters". He didn't said he felt bad because he has daughters now, he said he felt bad before and now he has 4 daughters he's more involved.
From: fitzgerald17 Date: October 14th, 2017 06:29 pm (UTC) (Link)
People attack him on everything, I'm not surprised anymore; they don't even try to understand.
But this happens with every famous people, not just with Matt. It's one of the worst thing of social networks.

"For his critics, it wasn’t that Damon mentioned his kids. But because he denounced sexual violence and mentioned that he was a father in the same breath, it seemed to them he was denouncing sexual violence merely because he is a father."

Exactly... Because they are so stupid and blind to recognize the truth.

Why it is impossible to speak about it? Here it is possible to watch a photo only? This very hard time for all of us where to discuss it how not here?
From: Abigail Davidson Date: October 14th, 2017 09:39 pm (UTC) (Link)
I don't know at this point what good discussing it does. There was a story that went viral and has a life of its own. You can't unring a bell. His publicist did not respond to calls from the media the day that story broke. Too late to put out the fire.
People enjoy a good "scandal". Thing is there are real victims in this Weinstein story and no one really has time for those who are taken down in the wake of this thing. Matt made his cute little appearance on Kimmel and a few folks laughed.
You are better off avoiding twitter all together. There are no happy folks there.
Times like this if a person has "enemies" there is a great delight in taking them down. Maybe this is the case here.
I saw accusations made toward Oprah in the Daily Beast about supporting Weinstein. It is toxic right now.
