RE: Colbert

Audiences always applaud guests on talk shows but that reception was notable for its sustained and enthusiastic standing ovation. A lot of public warmth for Matt on display. Stephen even seemed impressed, saying, "Not everybody gets a standing O." He also quietly added, "this is the real guy. Not CGI." Lol.

Re: Colbert

Is it just me, or did Matt seem more nervous and distracted on Colbert than any other interview I've seen him do? Colbert seemed rattled as well--very unusual for him. Matt was much more relaxed on GMA and funny as well as on with Kelly and Ryan. The last two were lots of fun. Maybe Matt was worried that Colbert would pull him into a political discussion which Matt really needs to avoid on these talk shows. He did throw out a comment himself about his daughters and Roy Moore. Curious.

Re: Colbert

I don't know, he looked normal to me. Maybe he was just tired. He already knew the topics of the interview, they're discussed before.
But, on the other hand, I've never liked Colbert as an interviewer, he always fail at making guests feel at ease. Even the most funniest ones look at unease.

RE: Re: Colbert

Yes, on intial viewing Matt & Stephen seemed kind of off. But I looked at it again it
& it seemed their timing was just a bit off - they were always stepping on each other's lines. Probably due to the fact Matt hasn't really been there much as a typical guest, they're just not used to each other. Colbert's weakness is his interviews, he was always looking at his notes for the next question. Unlike Dave, who just rolled with it when he had pros he enjoyed (like Matt). Colbert's show is probably tightly pre-set, so Matt likely knew every question that was coming.

I love his shorter hair. He looks great.
