    Love this:
"If you’re an open director, you cannot help but have the winds of history blow through your film. When you turn on a camera, you’re putting time in a bottle, and not just the time you’re in.”

    It's a beautiful quote.

    So many air miles!

I wonder if we'll ever find out why Matt did that massive amount of travel in such a short span. Business, maybe? It's a long way to go to keep a mate company. But he is a stand-up guy.

    RE: So many air miles!

I don't think he went to LA for Chris, especially because Chris posted a lot of videos of his flight and Matt wasn't there, they were flying private.

Matt maybe had something to do... a job meeting? Also, he left with a suitcase and the backpack and he returned only with the backpack, so he was probably taking something home.

    Matt & Ben

People summarizes all the recent Matt/Ben cuteness. I love that first shot of Matt, by the way.

    Re: Matt & Ben

Thank God Ben is being so social ahahah. By the way, the pictures of Matt he posted were very cute, except for the second one.

    Good Will Hunting

    Pretty sure it's all fake:

"The fact that Damon and Affleck didn’t write much else in the following 20-plus years — concentrating on acting — has helped sow doubt."

Matt wrote 2 movies, Ben 3, what are they talking about?

    That's cute:

    Re: Good Will Hunting

In the article in says that he [Cohen] approached Moore in the mid-90's, while, afaik, GWH's script was already sold to Castle Rock in 1994. And Weinstein ended up buying the script from Castle Rock in 1995. I smell total BS.

    RE: Australia

It's an old picture, if you open it, you can also see it was taken from Google.

As for the bracelet, I think it's a pass for that festival in Biron Bay. They all had it, back then, when pics came out.

It looks like Charlatan is happening!

From a THR article about '25 Movers Who Can Finance an Indie'. Sounds like the green light has happened on this. I wonder if Matt will be in it or just produce? Comedy, drama?

    Re: Kimberly Steward:

In 2017, Manchester by the Sea financier and producer Steward became only the second black female producer ever to be nominated for an Oscar. Manchester was one of the first projects backed by Steward's upstart K Period Media, which she, Lauren Beck and Josh Godfrey launched in 2013 with the goal of bringing edgy stories to the screen (Beck has since left the company). Now this daughter of tech billionaire David Steward is reteaming with her fellow Manchester producer Matt Damon on Charlatan, about a rogue doctor who claimed to have a cure for impotence. Upcoming projects the company is funding (mainly in the $5 million to $15 million range) include Luca Gaudagnino's Suspiria and an untitled Keira Knightley spy pic. "For me, the biggest challenge is learning how to balance the creative side and financing," says Steward.

He's starring in it. The news came out a while ago.

    Met Gala

I wonder if Matt and Lucy will attend: Amal Clooney is one of the hosts.
From: (Anonymous) Date: May 5th, 2018 03:17 pm (UTC) (Link)

    Re: Met Gala

And Donatella Versace (whose designs Matt and Lucy usually wear on the red carpet) is another host.
This year's theme is: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”
I hope that if they go, (and is a big IF) Matt and Lucy wear clothes allusive to the theme, would be fun.

Last year they attended because Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen (who are Matt's friends) were among the hosts of the event.
This year they're in Australia and I don't know if they will make such a long trip for just one event.
    We'll see.

Listed as a TV pick of the day by the Evening Standard?

Matt, Casey, & Gus's curiosity, "Gerry". Ha! This movie should be preceded by a warning for looooooong shots & virtually no dialogue.

Monuments Men gets a TV Series

Tangentially Matt related: Robert Edsel & a team travel the world to try to find art stolen by the Nazis. Apparently thousands of pieces are still missing. Fascinating! Too bad I don't have this channel, I eat up this kind of stuff.

I’m surprised the headline doesn’t read: Matt Damon seen laybuying presents in Kmart for Christmas following celebrity ‘fame tax’ Budget crackdown from Treasurer Scott Morrison. Lol

We saw dolphins surfing at Sharpes Beach, in Ballina and it’s a nice walk around the entire sandy beach (a tad more private than Lennox and Broken Head once you get past the car park view). I don’t recommend swimming/surfing there though from shark attacks and rips.

Has anyone seen Matt outside the Big Prawn at Bunnings in Ballina yet? :) Parents will need to take their Happy Feet DVD and pen to Bunnings in case of the opportunity (especially if Matt has bought a house in Byron).

Chris, I hope you’ve taken Matt camping already. BCF is in Ballina (I recommend the Wanderer Gazebo 3x3 with tent-like attachment Hubs, and their clothing is not bad too). Kathmandu is in Byron (Note: big fail they don’t have a Retreat Camping range in store - check it out online and then get home delivered or collect from store. P.S. Bunnings has LED for the Gazebo and Bunnings has a great range of LED lights (including globes, stars, and fairy lights for family glamping fun).

Sending you an invite from Airlie Beach, Whitsundays... the weather is lovely.

    Mel x
