New project confirmed
  • Matt will start filming in the summer a new project with director James Mangold and Christian Bale - details at the Hollywood Reporter:

Outlander star Caitriona Balfe and A Quiet Place breakout Noah Jupe are joining Christian Bale and Matt Damon in Fox’s untitled Ford vs. Ferrari movie.

James Mangold, the filmmaker behind last year’s acclaimed Logan, is directing the feature, which will shoot this summer in Los Angeles. Chernin Entertainment is producing.

The story revolves around car manufacturer Ford’s quest to beat Ferrari as the top maker of race cars. Damon is playing Carol Shelby, the eccentric engineer who designs from scratch the Ford GT 40, the car that just may win the 1966 Le Mans race, while Bale is portraying Ken Miles, the hotshot British racer who drives it.

Balfe will play Bale’s wife, who is also an accomplished driver, and Jupe will play Bale’s son, worried about the dangers his dad faces on the track.

    Jennifer Todd

She doesn't work with Ben and Matt anymore, I didn't know that.

    Ford vs Ferrarri project

Apparently the person Matt will play. I've been reading up a bit about Carroll Shelby, a fascinating dude, tough as nails. He once drove in a race with a hand so broken they taped it to the steering wheel. What used to be called a "man's man". I can't remember Matt ever playing a character quite like this.

Thanks for that, he's such an interesting character. I'm really excited about this movie.

Which part of "fictional account" they didn't understand?

I saw Deadpool tonight: Matt's cameo is really funny (as it is the whole movie) and he also has a very brief reunion with Brolin. But he has prosthetics on, so you may missed it: in case, he's the one who explains how to clean yourself, after you've been to the bathroom.

I don't think we've seen this? Alexander Payne does a post-op review of the issues with Downsizing. The fact that he feels it might be necessary to work in Europe in order to make good, unique movies is a scathing indictment of the US film industry.

    Harvey Weinstein

God, he can't keep them out of his mouth, can he?
Of course, he named the most famous people who attacked him (and probably the ones he was most disappointed in, since he launched their careers). What could he possibly know about them? I don't think they've ever had any kind of relationship with him, except from a professional one. I seriously doubt they told him their secrets or asked him for help.
Also because, if this were the case, it would have been so stupid take such a strong stand against him.

But, on a lighter note, finally a shirtless picture, where we can seen better the tattoo he made with Lucy:

    Re: Harvey Weinstein

I've seen exactly the same tweet two or three months ago. I think it's a total sham, firstly, there is no proof from Weinstein himself (where did he ever told this bs?), secondly, it comes from mostly right-leaning people.

Belinda Kelley, who works at Fishes at The Point Cafe, said she had served Damon eggs Benedict on Monday.
“He was lovely and he said to his kids ‘thank the lovely lady’.”

    Matt's many, many, cameos

We were chatting recently about Matt's cameos. This goes in the "dumb but fun" category of articles. And, really, this barely scrapes the surface. Some errors here as well, but nothing too egregious.

    Chris talks Matt

    Interview with Chris:

Thor star Chris Hemsworth has again fuelled speculation that fellow Hollywood A-lister Matt Damon is set to settle in Australia permanently.

Speaking to entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins on Channel Nine's Today Extra on Thursday, Chris, 34, referred to Matt as his 'good friend' and said: 'He [Matt] was in love with this country and wanted to come for a holiday.

'And that holiday got longer and longer and they [Matt's family] have been here a few months now and I'm loving it.'
