    Matt was terrific.

    The sketch

Ha, loved it! Indiewire comparing Kavanaugh to Matt's School Ties character is, sadly, spot-on.

    LA burglary ring

A burglary ring in LA apparently had Matt's home on their list of possible targets. What an awful feeling that must be! Thank heavens they have been arrested!

    That's awful.
I hope he has a good security team.

A likely false report that Ben may or may not attend Matt's birthday party in Vegas this weekend.

From: fitzgerald17 Date: October 3rd, 2018 12:03 pm (UTC) (Link)

    RE: Vegas?

X17 and Radar Online always write as if the people they are talking about were 5 years old. They are so stupid. What kind of friends would worry more about the party than someone's health?

And I doubt that Matt would need Jen's help to tell Ben not to go to the party. They've known each other forever. And Ben was an alcoholic even before. So if the party has been organized months ago, it would've still been unlikely for Ben to attend. But in case, I think he could go with a sober coach.

I agree that's probably false. Like everything X17 and Radar said.

    Re: The Bill Simmons Podcast

This is a fantastic podcast, even if you have heard most of the stories before. (I didn't know Matt got close on 'Powder' - loved that movie). But he's always fun to listen to, especially when he's in 'casual swearing mode'.

And discussions about Harvey Weinstein around the 50 minute mark.

    Other comments:

    - Matt got $600,000 for Rounders and $100,000 for Courage under fire. Matt would get $350,000 if Good Will Hunting was made separate to the writing deal, and no points (Robin got points).

    - Matt and Bend found the John Krasinski reading of GWH a few years back in NY surprisingly emotional, particularly regarding the love of fans in the room for the movie.

    - Views on the international box office replacing the DVD business is fascinating.

    - Lovely story about a proposed alternate ending for Manchester on the Sea which could not be used because of finances, and the low margins on low cost movies.

I was thinking that maybe Matt will be nominated at the Emmy for best guest star in a comedy series, for his sketch on SNL.

    Christian Bale

Tangentially Matt related: In the trailer for his new movie Bale nails Dick Cheney. (Rockwell also looks great as Bush).

I think it says here that Lucy and Matt are the godmother and godfather of their children, but I don't know if it's true (or if Google translate correctly):
