  • From an interview with George Clooney at Cinematical.

As Matt Damon enters our room and sits down to talk to us, George Clooney comes in and interrupts. He mentions that he hasn’t seen his friend in a long time and they give each other a hug. Right as he does it, however, he grabs Matt Damon’s ass.

Yes, we witnessed George Clooney with his hand on Damon’s tush.

GEORGE: (on his way in) By the way, Matt Damon has a very nice ass.
    Q: Is it true?
GEORGE: Well, you know, he’s hot. Were you gentle with him? Because it’s been a tough week.
    Q: Why?
    GEORGE: He didn’t get…
Q: Sexiest man alive of the year?
GEORGE: He ran a very strong campaign.

(re the assumed need for Oscars success)
GEORGE:Same thing with this film. It’s being reviewed very well and we’ve been having a really enjoyable time in the idea of the debates being raised. To me, that’s the issue.

Q: Matt said that when you were gaining this weight, you were a different person. You were constantly depressed. You weren’t grabbing his ass…
GEORGE: Well he was lonely. He needed someone to cuddle in Dubai which, you know, doesn’t go over so well in the Middle East.

Q: Now that Matt’s engaged, have you given him any advice?
GEORGE: Don’t you think I should be the one passing him advice? "Matt, here’s what you have to do." Because I’ve been engaged so often. I’ve given him no advice. We like her, she’s a nice girl so that's a good thing.

  • From a Chicago Sun-Times holiday preview:

Others are more in love with ... other things. In "Syriana," it's the oil companies that are in love with money.

"I think when you're the feel-good oil movie of the holiday season, you don't have to worry about giant animatronic apes," says "Syriana" writer/director Stephen Gaghan. "We got oil policy and terrorism. We kill movie stars. Let see them pull that off in 'King Kong.'"

He says a serious film is also welcome during the usual end-of-the-year extravaganza.

"Everyone is interested in what kind of world we're leaving for our kids," he says. "That's real love."

  • A story picked up at Contact music (unknown original source yet):

    Matt Damon goes green

MATT DAMON has become the latest movie star to buy a hybrid car after his family urged him to stop guzzling gas and turn environmental.

Damon has joined a growing list of celebrities, including LEONARDO DiCAPRIO and TOM HANKS, who have made greener car choices.

But Damon insists he's not trying to be part of an environmental trend among his peers - he just wanted to save money at the petrol pump.

He explains, "I just have one for my own personal reasons. I don't have a car in New York but I just got a place in Florida and we (himself and fiancee LUCIANA BARROSO) got a car there and it's a hybrid.

"You don't need all that car. I don't need a Suburban (sports utility vehicle) to drive myself around. It seems to make common sense to me.

"My father drives one, my brother drives one. They're like, 'Why would you ever drive a regular car?' There's no reason to. These cars are just as good, they're just as fast and they use less gas, so I don't understand why everyone isn't driving one."
