New Spanish film project?
  • An article at El Periodico appears to be claiming that Matt will star/appear in a Spanish-language film by Albert Espinosa that is expected to begin shooting in September. That part is presumably incorrect, as Bourne Ultimatum will commence in August. If anyone can provide a better translation in the comments section it would be appreciated. The most relevant parts of the article:

  • An article at OK magazine (and we all know how realiable that mag is) claims that Matt earned $27 million in 2005. A scan of the page from Sammie's magazine scans page is here.

  • Update: Matt will host an upcoming PBS special - details from the NY Daily News - check your local listings. It's the next program in the Journey to Planet Earth series which Matt has hosted in previous years - details of the series are available here, here, or here.

Matt Damon hosts PBS' "State of the Planet's Wildlife" April 18 at 9 p.m. on WNET/Ch. 13. The program examines the loss of wildlife because of climate change, the illegal wildlife trade and the spread of animal-borne disease.

It sounds much more like "I'd really like Matt Damon to star, along with the people from my troupe; it might even be nice for him" than "he's going to do it". Key word: aspires (it's the same root for English) - "Espinosa aspira a que sea protagonizada por Matt Damon".

Thanks for that - it certainly makes more sense.

    State of Planet's Wildlife

Pollution, traffic, planes, and more effect our environment. From our water supply to the air we breathe. I wonder if the program will discuss Wildlife/environmental issues i.e. wetlands. Such a serios topic of discussion. So many industries face this task. How do we save our wildlife? But yet grow as a business. We all acknowledge the fact that growth/expansion of certain industries are essential. But how do we save our wildlife. We can't just put them in a jar? Yet we can't put a diaper around an industry. It makes me wonder at times if I'm in the right career. Because I feel so strong about this issue. There has to be a solution.

The program examines the loss of wildlife because of climate change, the illegal wildlife trade and the spread of animal-borne disease.

    Re: State of Planet's Wildlife

This was something I wrote about in Feb. I am so happy of what Matt has accomplished in such a short period of time. I wish him lots of success in his journey. God bless, Allison (PVD)
