Alexander Siddig talks about Matt
  • Syriana actor Alexander Siddig talked about working with Matt in an Italian interview at Primissima. Additional comments, including his views on working with George Clooney, have not been translated below.

How has it been working with Matt Damon?

Very good. Matt Damon plays a character who would have been friends with the Prince if his life had been different. He is an extraordinary and very sweet actor who has taken great care of me although I was not a star. He treated me with enormous respect and care. He is a wonderful person and especially intelligent, and he protected me during the making of the film. His acting is fantastic and therefore our scenes were all very spontaneous and natural. We spent a lot of time together discussing our private lives.

Honestly, has anyone ever had a bad experience making a movie with him? I've never heard of a single one. He seems such a joy to work with.

Very true - the bad reports do not exist but the good reports are always worth reading.

Alexander Siddig previously wrote about his experience of working with Matt in a letter to his official fansite, http://www.sidcity.net/. I posted these comments previously with the site owner's permission:

Matt Damon was the 'ace in the hole'. I had no idea what a decent man he was. Not just decent but intimidatingly clever. He has an encyclopedic mind for the things that interest him. If Damon ever directs a film - see it - simple as that.

And all that is why I find him so utterly attractive in every aspect.

    When I grow up....

or in another life, I want to be Matt Damon :)

He is human and thus not perfect. However, he seems to go out of his way to be the best person he can be. He values people. All people. I totally respect that. Also, that has got to be tough when you consider his career choice and how successful he is. The price of fame can be quite high personally. He handles it all with such grace.

While reading through previous posts, I came across one regarding his former relationship with Minnie Driver. There was another post about him receiving a bed from The Ghost Whisperer. I believe her name is Jennifer Hewitt. Well, I was just wondering if ever he and JH were good friends at some point and perhaps they were considering becoming an item? Maybe she and Matt met previously and were interested 'whatever' but something happened and he, she or both mutually decided not to go there for some reason. She may have been crushing on him at one point, but maybe some other encounter(s) transpired between them that we know nothing about. It just seemed to me that everyone wanted to make JH out to be a little weird for sending Matt a bed. I do not find it weird at all. Stranger things have been done. Besides, JH looks like Matt's type. To me, Minnie, JH and Lucy look alike. All beautiful as well. Just thinking out loud.

    Re: When I grow up....

There was never anything between Matt and Jennifer Love Hewitt, but Jennifer has always had a crush on Matt and has done arugably inappropriate things towards him (the bed being the most obvious).

Jennifer was always gushing about him in interviews (the way nobody else ever did) and saying how she completely freezes up when around hm.

It wasn't so much the sending of a bed as the potential implications of sending a bed when combined with her previous actions and behaviour.

Implications, Schmplications! Who wouldn't love getting a gift from Jennifer Love Hewitt?? I personally would be very cool with that, I'd be very flattered, and I sure wouldn't look too much into it, being that she's been reported as a person who gives gifts to alot of people she doesn't know.

I think it's great that he is so repectful to everyone, because why wouldn't he be? Random Question: I thought I heard awhile ago that Matt was going to appear on Will and Grace again. IS there any truth to this???

No truth to the rumor. At the beginning of most seasons there was usually a rumor that he would appear again, and it never happened.

Oh that would have been so cool if he did though.
