Pacino joins O13
  • Al Pacino is the latest actor to join Ocean's Thirteen - from Variety:

Al Pacino has been added to Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's Thirteen" gang. Thesp joins the cast -- headed by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle and Bernie Mac -- and their franchise's new leading lady, Ellen Barkin.

Jerry Weintraub is producing the pic, which has a July 21 start date. Shooting is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. "Rounders" scribes Brian Koppelman and David Levien penned the script.

Details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but Warners revealed that Pacino will be playing Willie Banks, the owner of a high-profile casino and hotel in Las Vegas.

  • A sighting from the current issue of Star magazine:

Matt Damon and his very pregnant wife Luciana Barroso dining at Nobu in Miami’s trendy South Beach after strolling by the Second Annual Beach Ball Festival on Ocean Drive on 8 April.

  • From an interview with Australian comedian Peter Helliar, who appears on the local show Rove Live, on which Matt has appeared twice:

You've had a number of special guests on Rove Live over the years. Who has been the best value?
Matt Damon and Will Smith are two absolute professionals and they come in and they know, and are interested in, what's going on around them. They're just great.

Yay for Rove!!! Always knew he had good taste. Hopefully he can get him on again next time he's in Melbourne.

Actually yay for Peter Helliar, becaue the comment came from him. But Rove has said at least two or three times that Matt has been one of his favourite guests (again with Will Smith I think), because he's exactly the same on camera as he is off camera.

I'm kind of surprised Al Pacino would want to be in one of the Ocean films. But, he's a great actor so it's a nice choice as far as I'm concerned. I wonder if he's going to be another evil casino owner like Andy's character?
